Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EQ Charging Case — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (102026)

This 3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EQ Charging Case. It fits the case unit directly — not the earbuds themselves. Replace it when the case stops holding a charge and can no longer top up the earbuds between uses.

  • Beoplay EQ Charging Case fit: The case uses a compact Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal to power its internal charge circuit. This replacement matches the OEM voltage rail and physical footprint at 25.90 × 19.20 × 9.00mm — the BMS in the case reads cell voltage directly, so matching chemistry and voltage matters here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the case's charge-in and charge-out sequence and confirmed the BMS accepted the new pack without error, completing full charge cycles to both the case and the earbuds.
  • First-cycle protocol for the Beoplay EQ case: After fitting the new cell, place the case on its USB-C charge cable and let it reach full charge before putting earbuds inside. The case firmware logs the new cell's baseline voltage on that first cycle — skip it and the charge indicator can misread the state of charge for weeks.

Why the Beoplay EQ case shows full but cuts the earbuds off early

The case uses a fuel gauge that references a stored charge curve, not a live cell reading. When the original cell degrades, that curve drifts — the indicator shows full charge while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold needed to push current into the earbuds. Fitting a new cell resets nothing automatically. The case needs one complete charge-from-flat cycle over USB-C to re-anchor the fuel gauge to the new cell's real capacity. After that cycle, the indicator and actual charge state align again.

Case warm to the touch while charging the earbuds

The Beoplay EQ case charges both earbuds simultaneously while the case cell itself may also be taking charge from USB-C. That parallel draw in a small sealed housing generates noticeable warmth — it is normal up to mild warmth but should not feel hot. If the case gets genuinely hot, disconnect USB-C and let the case finish charging the earbuds on its own stored charge. Check that the USB-C port and cable are clean and delivering a stable 5V — a fluctuating input voltage forces the charge circuit to retry repeatedly, which increases heat output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Beoplay EQ case charges the earbuds fine straight after I plug it in, but they cut off after a short time once I take the case off the cable — what's happening?

The case cell is sitting at storage voltage — it looks full when external power is present because the cable is carrying the load, not the cell itself. Once you unplug, the depleted cell drops below the output threshold almost immediately. Fit the new cell, then charge the case from flat to full on USB-C in a single uninterrupted session before using it off-cable. After that first complete cycle, the cell will hold and deliver charge correctly.

The case light shows charging, but after an hour on USB-C the earbuds still show low battery inside the Beoplay app — is the case actually charging them?

The case charge circuit prioritises refilling the case cell before routing power to the earbuds. If the internal cell was deeply discharged, it can absorb the full USB-C input for a significant period before the earbud charging pins receive current. Leave the case on USB-C until the indicator confirms a full case charge — at that point the case has the stored voltage (3.7V nominal) needed to actively charge both earbuds. Check the earbud contacts in the case are clean and making firm contact if the issue continues.

The Beoplay EQ earbuds cut out mid-call even though the case showed plenty of charge before I left the desk — why does this keep happening?

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. Under combined audio playback and Bluetooth radio draw, the earbuds pull harder on their own internal cells. If those cells are low, the earbuds cut off even though the case cell is healthy — the case cell cannot transfer charge to the earbuds wirelessly mid-use. The case only charges the earbuds when they are seated and the lid is closed. Seat the earbuds in the case for at least one full charge cycle before your next call, and confirm the case itself reads full via the Beoplay app before removing them.
