Fits BASE Lutea 3 and Lutea III smartphones; replaces OEM battery CS-OT997SL.
3.7V, 1650mAh lithium-ion cell delivers standard runtime for daily messaging and calls.
Flat connector slides into the battery cavity; positive contact orients upward toward the fuel gauge IC.
We bench tested this cell against stock Lutea 3 firmware; the BMS accepted charge current without cutoff errors.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BASE Lutea 3 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1650mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the BASE Lutea 3 (also listed as Lutea III). It fits directly into the existing battery compartment and restores power to the device when the original cell has degraded or failed. No OEM part number is published for this battery.

  • Lutea 3 and Lutea III compatibility: Both names refer to the same handset. The battery compartment, connector orientation, and cell dimensions (57.10 × 50.98 × 5.90mm) are identical across both variants, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on the bench. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly — no false overcurrent trips, and the charge IC accepted the cell without flagging an authentication error.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC on the Lutea 3 calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step with a new high-impedance cell leads to inaccurate percentage readings from the first use.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Lutea 3 after a cell swap

A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the original. The fuel gauge IC still references the old curve, so it reads 25% while the actual cell voltage has already dropped close to the BMS cutoff threshold. When the modem fires up or the screen peaks brightness, the load spike pulls the voltage below 3.0V and the BMS cuts power instantly. One full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate re-anchors the coulomb counter to the new cell's curve and eliminates these cutoffs.

Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks normal charging to prevent damage. The phone will show no sign of life — no boot, no charging indicator. To recover, connect to a wall charger rather than a PC USB port, which delivers enough current to trigger the BMS trickle-charge recovery mode. Leave it on charge for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs to see the cell voltage climb above 3.0V before it releases the lockout.

Frequently Asked Questions

The BASE Lutea 3 keeps shutting off at around 25% — did I get a faulty replacement battery?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Lutea 3 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell, not the new one. When the modem or display spikes the load, the actual cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff even though the OS still reads 25%. Run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown followed by a full charge at standard rate — this recalibrates the coulomb counter and the random cutoffs stop.

The battery percentage on my Lutea 3 is jumping around erratically after fitting the new cell — is something wrong with the phone?

Nothing is wrong with the phone. The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's impedance and discharge curve, which differs from the worn-out original. Until it completes at least one full cycle, the percentage readout will be unstable — it may jump 5–10% in either direction. Do one complete discharge-to-shutdown and charge-to-100% cycle without interruption, and the readings will stabilise.

My Lutea 3 won't respond at all after the new battery arrived and sat in the package for a few months — it was never even installed yet.

Li-ion cells lose charge in storage, and if the cell voltage has dropped below 2.5V the BMS enters a lockout state that blocks standard charging. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a laptop USB port — which provides enough current to trigger the BMS trickle-charge recovery sequence. Leave it connected for at least 20 minutes without pressing any buttons; once the cell climbs above 3.0V the BMS releases lockout and the phone will boot normally.
