Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-997 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB32E0000C1)
This 3.7V 1650mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Alcatel OT-997 and OT-997D smartphones. It matches OEM part numbers CAB32E0000C1, CAB32E0002C1, TLiB32E, CAB32E0000C2, and TLiB5AF. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge through a normal day of calls, messages, and basic apps.
- OT-997 and OT-997D compatibility: Both handsets run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake requirements. This cell satisfies both variants without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the OT-997 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion and the charge IC reached termination voltage cleanly without false cutoff events.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown and then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The OT-997 fuel gauge IC was calibrated to your old degraded cell — it needs one full cycle against the new cell's discharge curve to report accurate percentages.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-997 after a cell swap
The OT-997's fuel gauge IC holds a coulomb-counter model built from the old cell's degraded discharge curve. A fresh 1650mAh cell has a steeper voltage cliff in the low-charge region than the worn cell the phone learned from. When the modem fires up for a call or the screen brightness spikes, current draw pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the displayed percentage still reads 20% or higher. One full discharge-to-shutdown and uninterrupted recharge resets the counter model against the actual cell. After that cycle, the reported percentage and the real state of charge align.
OT-997 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or sat on a shelf for several months, cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the threshold where the BMS locks out to prevent damage. The phone will show nothing when you press the power button. Connect the handset to a wall charger rather than a USB port on a PC, since the charge IC needs a stable 5V source to push the trickle current required to recover a locked-out cell. Leave it on charge undisturbed for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS will release its lockout once the cell recovers to approximately 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OT-997 shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The OT-997's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to your old, degraded cell and its discharge curve no longer matches the fresh 1650mAh cell. Under a sudden load spike — a call connecting, the screen waking — the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff point even though the percentage display still reads mid-range. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the coulomb counter will re-sync to the new cell's actual curve.
The battery percentage on my OT-997 jumps around erratically after fitting the replacement — sometimes it reads 80%, then skips to 60% within minutes.
Erratic percentage readings are a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a defective cell. The IC's internal charge model is still mapped to the old cell's impedance and capacity characteristics. A new 1650mAh cell presents a different voltage-versus-state-of-charge profile, so the IC misreads where it is on that curve. One full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge resets the model against the new cell; percentage reporting stabilises after that single cycle.
The OT-997 feels warm near the battery compartment for the first hour of charging — is the new cell overheating?
Mild warmth in the first charge cycle is normal with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. As long as the phone remains warm rather than hot to the touch and the heat subsides after the first full charge, no action is needed. If the device becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect immediately and check that the charger output does not exceed 5V/1A.
