Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK I269 / I188 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BK-B-26)
This is a 3.7V, 750mAh (2.78Wh) lithium-ion cell that replaces the original battery in the BBK I269 and I188 smartphones. It fits directly where the original BK-B-26, BK-B-26B, or BK-B-28 sat. If the phone shuts down unexpectedly, won't hold a charge, or the battery has swollen, this is the part to swap.
- I269 and I188 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions (49.16 × 38.00 × 4.57mm), voltage rail, and connector pinout. The same OEM part numbers — BK-B-26, BK-B-26B, and BK-B-28 — cover both handsets, so one cell fits either device without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on a BBK handset. The BMS responded correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the charge termination threshold. No false capacity readings on the first monitored cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable fast charging if available and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before it locks in percentage thresholds — skipping this step causes the phone to report inaccurate percentages for days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a new cell
The fuel gauge IC in the I269 stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell arrives with a slightly different internal resistance profile, the IC reads voltage correctly but misjudges the remaining capacity. At around 3.6–3.65V the phone sees the modelled "empty" threshold and cuts power — even though the new cell still has charge left. One full slow discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 4.2V, resets the coulomb counter and clears the erroneous cutoff point.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new cell typically has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. The charge IC on the I269 pushes current into that higher impedance, and the extra resistance converts a small amount of energy to heat. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops toward its rated value. If the phone stays warm beyond cycle three or gets too hot to hold comfortably, stop charging and check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection forces the charge IC to work harder.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BBK I269 powers off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC learned the discharge curve of the old, degraded battery and is triggering shutdown at a voltage point that mapped to "empty" on the original cell. Run one complete slow discharge — let the phone shut itself off naturally — then charge uninterrupted to full. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap the cutoff against the new cell. After that cycle, check whether the shutdowns stop.
The BBK I269 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused in a drawer for months — how do I recover it?
Lithium-ion cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent further discharge damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will apply a trickle current to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the screen still shows nothing after 45 minutes on a wall charger, check the battery connector tab is fully clicked in before assuming the cell is damaged.
The battery percentage on my I269 jumps around erratically — sometimes gaining 5% with no charging — after the swap. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is mid-recalibration. It uses a stored model of the previous cell's voltage-to-capacity curve, and the new cell's curve doesn't match it yet, so percentage readings oscillate as the IC tries to reconcile measured voltage against its outdated table. This typically settles after two to three full discharge-charge cycles. Complete each cycle at the standard charge rate with fast charging off, and let the phone reach full shutdown on the discharge leg rather than plugging in early — that gives the IC the cleanest data at both endpoints.
