Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HOSIN U6 / U7 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HL-U6)
This is a 3.7V, 1650mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the HOSIN U6 and U7 smartphones. It slots in where the original HL-U6 battery sits and restores power to the device's core functions — calls, messaging, and apps. Capacity is 6.11Wh, matching the original specification.
- U6 and U7 shared platform: Both models run the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why they share the HL-U6 cell. Swapping between either model uses this same unit — no adapter or wiring change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the U6 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without a protection fault, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V. No thermal events were recorded during the test cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell. Skip this step and percentage readings will drift for the first several cycles.
Why the HOSIN U6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC in the U6 uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance and voltage-capacity curve. A new cell has different impedance characteristics, so the IC's stored model no longer matches reality. Until the gauge re-learns the new cell, it will over- or under-report percentage — sometimes by 15–20%. One full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the IC to reset its baseline and track the new curve accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a freshly installed cell
This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. Under modem transmission load or screen brightness spikes, the cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects, hitting the BMS undervoltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It happens most often on new cells that haven't completed an initial calibration cycle. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown — do not force-stop it — then charge uninterrupted to 4.2V. After that cycle, the shutdowns typically stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The HOSIN U6 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — new battery installed but still dead.
A cell left at low voltage long enough trips the BMS into deep-discharge lockout, which blocks power-on to protect the cell. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC needs to trickle enough current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold of approximately 2.5V per cell. Once it crosses that threshold, the BMS releases the lockout and the phone will boot normally. If the charge LED never lights within that window, reseat the battery connector and try a different cable.
Fast charging stopped working after fitting the replacement HL-U6 battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first charge cycle after a battery swap, the phone's charge controller sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging because the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake didn't complete against the new BMS. This is normal behaviour on the first cycle. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then unplug and replug the charger — the handshake renegotiates and fast charging typically resumes from the second cycle onward. Confirm you're using the original HOSIN charger, as third-party adapters may not send the correct voltage negotiation signal.
Battery percentage on the HOSIN U6 keeps jumping around erratically — skips from 45% to 70% or drops suddenly.
Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it hasn't mapped yet. The coulomb counter accumulated error from the old cell and is now correcting in visible steps as it gathers discharge data on the new one. Run two full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycles — discharge to auto-shutdown, charge to 100% without interruption — and the jumps will narrow with each pass. After the second cycle, readings should stabilise within a ±3–5% margin.
