Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ESIA Qwerty Mini — 3.7V Li-ion 1100mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1100mAh (4.07Wh), sized at 44.00 x 38.00 x 5.20mm to fit the ESIA Qwerty Mini smartphone. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell to restore normal device operation. No OEM part number is published for this battery — match by fit model before ordering.

  • Qwerty Mini form factor: The Qwerty Mini uses a compact chassis with tight clearance around the cell. At 44 x 38 x 5.20mm, this cell matches the original footprint and connector orientation — no modification needed for seating.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Qwerty Mini platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge current ramped normally, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installation, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the OS begins reading percentage from it.

Why the Qwerty Mini reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Qwerty Mini uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model from previous cell discharge history. When you fit a new cell, the IC still references the old curve, so reported percentage drifts from actual state of charge. The mismatch is largest in the 30–70% range where the new cell's voltage profile differs most from a worn cell. One complete slow-charge cycle — from near-zero to full — resets the coulomb counter and brings percentage readings back into alignment.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated to the new cell and the voltage drops below the modem or display load threshold before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone shuts down to protect the cell, even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. It is not a defective cell — it is an uncalibrated gauge cutting power at the wrong point. Discharge the phone fully once, charge to 100% without interruption, and the shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Qwerty Mini won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage — is the cell dead?

It is not necessarily dead. If the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal boot current to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.

The battery percentage on my Qwerty Mini is jumping around erratically — sometimes gaining 10% without charging.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and its coulomb counter is out of sync with actual cell voltage. This is expected for the first two or three cycles after a cell swap — the IC has no discharge history for the new cell to reference. Run two full cycles from near-zero charge to 100% at standard charge current, and the percentage readings will stabilise as the counter locks onto the correct curve.

Fast charging stopped working on my Qwerty Mini after I fitted this battery — the phone only trickle charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell replacement, the charge IC sometimes defaults to a conservative trickle rate while it profiles the new cell's impedance. This is a protective behaviour, not a fault with the battery. Charge the phone fully at the slow rate, then discharge it normally and reconnect the charger — the IC will have completed its profiling pass and fast charge will resume. If it does not resume after two full cycles, check that the original charge cable and adaptor are in use, as the Qwerty Mini's charge protocol negotiation is sensitive to adaptor output tolerance.
