Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK Vivo X5Pro V — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-87)
This 3.85V, 2450mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original B-87 battery in the Vivo X5Pro V and Vivo X5Pro V Dual SIM. It restores power to the processor, display stack, and wireless radios when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge. Capacity is 9.43Wh — matching the OEM specification.
- X5Pro V and Dual SIM compatibility: Both variants use the same B-87 cell format, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the two SKUs, so one cell covers both builds without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on X5Pro V hardware. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly after one full cycle, and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff under combined screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% on standard current. This gives the coulomb counter a known reference point against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins.
Why the X5Pro V reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on the X5Pro V uses a stored discharge curve from the original cell to estimate remaining capacity. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the reported percentage drifts — sometimes by 10–20 points. The IC needs one full discharge-to-shutdown and charge-to-full cycle to relearn the curve against the replacement cell. Until that cycle completes, percentage readouts are estimates against stale data, not accurate readings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's minimum operating voltage under combined LTE and display load — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge is reading average voltage, not instantaneous voltage under peak draw. A fresh cell with an uncalibrated coulomb counter makes this worse because the IC doesn't yet know where the real voltage cliff sits. Run one full calibration cycle first, then check if shutdowns persist; if they do, confirm the cell is seated flat and the connector is fully locked.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Vivo X5Pro V won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Lithium-polymer cells discharge slowly in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs a trickle current to bring the cell above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond. If the charging indicator appears, let it reach at least 15% before booting.
Fast charging stopped working on the X5Pro V after I fitted the new battery — it only charges slowly now.
The proprietary fast-charge protocol on the X5Pro V requires the BMS to complete a handshake with the charge IC on the first cycle. Some replacement cells come with the BMS in a conservative state, and the charger falls back to standard current until that handshake is confirmed. Charge the phone once to 100% using the original Vivo wall adapter — third-party adapters may not send the correct voltage request signal. After one full charge on the OEM adapter, fast charging typically resumes on the second cycle.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the back panel while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces as the cell completes its initial cycles. Warm to the touch is expected; hot enough to be uncomfortable is not — if it reaches that point, disconnect and check that the battery connector is fully seated and no debris is under the cell causing a pressure point. After three to five full charge cycles, operating temperature should return to the range you saw with the original battery.
