Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK VIVO X6 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-91)

This is a 3.8V, 2400mAh (9.12Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the VIVO X6, X6D, X6D Dual SIM TD-LTE, and X6A. Part number B-91 matches the original cell specification. It fits devices where the original battery no longer holds a usable charge or has physically swollen.

  • X6 series fit: The X6, X6D, and X6A share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout. All run on the same 3.8V nominal rail with identical BMS handshake protocols, so one cell part number covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge sequence, confirming BMS communication, charge termination at 4.35V, and stable voltage output under screen-on load. No cutoff faults or handshake errors were logged.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated counter.

Why the VIVO X6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The VIVO X6 uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC that accumulates charge and discharge data over time. When a new cell goes in, that counter still holds learned data from the old, degraded cell. The mismatch causes the OS to display percentages that don't reflect actual cell state — commonly showing full when it isn't, or dropping suddenly. One complete slow-charge cycle resets the learned curve and aligns the counter to the new cell's actual capacity.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated and the cell hits a voltage cliff under load — typically when the modem transmits or the screen brightness spikes. The reported percentage is ahead of the real cell voltage, so the BMS cuts power before the OS can warn the user. It is not a defective cell. Charge the device fully to 100%, let it discharge in one session without interruption, then recharge — after that cycle the shutdowns stop as the gauge IC recalibrates its low-voltage threshold to the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VIVO X6 powers off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded battery. Under modem or display load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, and the BMS triggers a protective cutoff before the OS registers low battery. Run one full uninterrupted discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% at standard rate — the coulomb counter resets its threshold and the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working on my VIVO X6 right after I swapped the battery — the phone only slow-charges now.

The VIVO X6's charge IC runs a handshake with the battery BMS before it steps up to high-current mode. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS has no learned state and defaults to a conservative charge rate as a safety measure. Complete one full charge cycle at the slow rate. On the second cycle, the handshake completes correctly and fast charging resumes at its normal current.

My VIVO X6 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.

If the cell self-discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage at deep discharge. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC delivers a low trickle current that brings the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone powers on normally. If the charge indicator does not appear within 40 minutes, check the charger voltage output is at least 5V.
