Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK VIVO X6 Plus — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-89)
This 3.8V, 3000mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original B-89 battery in the VIVO X6 Plus, X6 Plus D, X6 Plus D Dual SIM TD-LTE, and X6 Plus L. It restores full power to calls, messaging, apps, and media after the original cell has degraded or failed to hold charge. Dimensions are 84.70 x 68.22 x 3.44mm — match these before installing.
- X6 Plus series fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers all variants listed. Voltage rails and thermal sensing lines are consistent across the X6 Plus lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on X6 Plus hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and overcharge thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone's SoC reads 25% remaining, but the new cell hits its minimum sustainable voltage under screen or modem load and the BMS cuts power. It is not a defective cell — it is a mismatch between the gauge and the actual cell chemistry. Run one full discharge to shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to force a recalibration cycle. After that cycle, low-percentage shutdowns typically stop.
USB-PD fast charge not engaging on the first cycle after replacement
On the first charge after a cell swap, the VIVO X6 Plus charge IC may default to standard 5V charging rather than negotiating fast charge. This occurs because the charge controller re-evaluates cell impedance on the first connection and holds back high current until it confirms the cell is safe to push. Do not force fast charge on this first cycle. Plug in with the original charger, let it complete a full charge at standard rate, then fast charging will negotiate correctly on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VIVO X6 Plus powers on but the battery percentage jumps around — shows 60%, then drops to 30% in seconds. Is the replacement cell faulty?
The cell itself is almost certainly fine. What's happening is the fuel gauge IC — the chip that estimates state of charge — is still using the discharge curve it mapped on the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage doesn't match those stored reference points, the reported percentage jumps erratically. Run one uninterrupted full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without removing the charger. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to rebuild its curve against the new cell.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation. Nothing happens when I press the power button.
A cell stored below roughly 2.5V per cell triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell entirely to prevent damage, and the phone sees no voltage at all. Plug the phone into the original charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate until voltage rises above the BMS recovery threshold. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the BMS has released the lockout and normal charging resumes.
The back of my VIVO X6 Plus feels warm near the battery area during the first few charges after the swap. Should I be concerned?
Some warmth on the first one or two charges is normal. A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC works harder to push current through it, generating more heat early on. This typically reduces after two or three full cycles as impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or shows a temperature warning on screen, stop charging and let it cool to room temperature before continuing.
