Fits VIVO Y20, Y20W, and Y20T smartphones; replaces OEM battery part number BK-B-68.
3.8V nominal and 2500mAh capacity deliver stable power to the processor, modem, and display.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single plastic locking tab on top.
We cycled this cell on a Y20 test unit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK VIVO Y20 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BK-B-68)

This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh (9.5Wh) lithium-polymer cell replacing part number BK-B-68 in the VIVO Y20, Y20W, and Y20T. The original cell degrades over charge cycles, causing the phone to shut down early or fail to hold a charge. This replacement restores the battery bay to factory capacity.

  • VIVO Y20, Y20W, Y20T compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 93.47 × 58.07 × 3.41mm cell fits the chassis without modification, and the charge IC on each variant accepts the same BMS communication.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a VIVO Y20 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC completed CC/CV charging without cutoff anomalies or temperature fault triggers.
  • First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes high current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VIVO Y20 after a cell swap

The VIVO Y20's fuel gauge IC builds a discharge model based on the old cell's internal resistance profile. A new cell has a different voltage-versus-capacity curve, so the IC misreads remaining capacity and reports 20–30% when the cell is already near its cutoff voltage. Under modem transmit or display brightness load, the cell voltage drops below the BMS threshold instantly and the phone shuts off. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging forces the coulomb counter to resync to the new cell's actual curve.

Phone warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges

A fresh lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first two or three charges, the charge IC converts more energy to heat as it pushes current through that higher impedance. This is normal and reduces as the cell cycles. If warmth persists beyond the third charge cycle or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the back cover is fully seated — a lifted cover traps heat directly against the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my VIVO Y20 show 25% battery and then shut down with no warning after fitting the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the VIVO Y20 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop near depletion, so the IC reports 25% when the cell is already close to BMS cutoff voltage. Under any sudden load — a call, a screen wake, mobile data — the cell voltage drops below 3.2V and the BMS cuts power. Run one complete discharge to auto-off followed by a full charge without fast charging enabled, and the coulomb counter will resync to the new curve.

Fast charging stopped working on my VIVO Y20 right after I put in the replacement battery — is it the charger?

It is not the charger. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the VIVO Y20's charge IC can reject the proprietary fast-charge handshake if the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its initialisation sequence. Charge the phone once at standard 5V with fast charging disabled in the battery settings. After that full cycle completes, re-enable fast charging — the BMS will have finished its handshake and the IC will accept the elevated current profile.

My VIVO Y20 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?

Li-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone will not power on from this state. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes and the phone will power on.
