Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 China Mobile — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-BN916BBC)

This is a 3.85V, 2800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 China Mobile variant and related SM-N910 series models including SM-N910F, SM-N9109W, and SM-N9106W. It matches OEM part numbers EB-BN916BBC and EB-BN916BBE. It fits directly into the original battery bay with the same connector and cell dimensions: 98.48 x 38.9 x 5.6 mm.

  • SM-N910 series compatibility: The China Mobile Note 4 variants and the SM-N910F share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers multiple model numbers across this sub-family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on the SM-N910 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without a protection trip, and the charge IC completed a full constant-current to constant-voltage taper cycle without interruption.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean discharge curve to map against the new cell — before high-current charging pushes amps into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Note 4 after a cell swap

The Note 4's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell is installed, that stored curve no longer matches actual cell voltage under load. The modem radio and display together can pull enough current to cause a sharp voltage sag — the IC sees a reading below its cutoff threshold and shuts the device down, even though the new cell still holds charge. One full standard-rate discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's voltage floor, typically settling cutoff near 3.4–3.5V under load.

Phone warm near the battery during the first few charge sessions

A fresh high-impedance cell generates more heat than a broken-in one during the initial charging sessions. The charge IC on the Note 4 runs constant-current phase longer against a new cell because internal resistance is slightly higher out of the box. This is normal and typically settles after three to five cycles as internal resistance drops. If the device stays warm beyond the fifth cycle, check that the back cover is seated flush — trapped heat has no exit path through a misaligned cover.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Note 4 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — why?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated its discharge curve to the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a different voltage profile under load, so the IC triggers a low-voltage cutoff earlier than it should. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate — no fast charge. After that cycle the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Note 4 jumps around erratically after the replacement — is the new cell faulty?

Not necessarily. The Note 4's fuel gauge IC stores a learned capacity model tied to the old cell's internal resistance and discharge curve. A new cell invalidates that model, so percentage readings bounce until the IC recalibrates. Complete two full standard-rate discharge-charge cycles without letting the phone sit at partial charge for extended periods. After the second cycle, readings should stabilise to within a few percent of actual remaining capacity.

Fast charging stopped working on my Note 4 after I swapped the battery — what's happening?

On the first cycle after installation, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard rate while it negotiates with the new cell's BMS. This is a handshake behaviour, not a fault. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off, then reconnect. If fast charge still does not engage, complete one full standard-rate charge cycle first — after that the IC has enough cell data to re-enable the high-current charge path, and fast charging typically resumes on the next plug-in.
