Fits Binatone SpeakEasy 600 mobile phone; replaces OEM battery HZTBL-4D-01.
3.7V and 1300mAh capacity delivers 4.81Wh to sustain cellular and standby operation on this compact phone.
Connector slides into the battery bay with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the housing.
We ran the cell through three full discharge cycles on the SpeakEasy 600 platform; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and voltage held steady across typical modem load.
On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge feature for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Binatone SpeakEasy 600 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HZTBL-4D-01)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion battery for the Binatone SpeakEasy 600 mobile phone. It replaces OEM part HZTBL-4D-01 directly. Fit this when the original cell no longer holds charge or fails to power the handset through normal use.

  • SpeakEasy 600 fit: The SpeakEasy 600 uses a fixed 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture with a dedicated connector and BMS handshake matched to this cell. The HZTBL-4D-01 footprint — 60.00 × 43.80 × 4.50mm — is specific to this handset and will not seat correctly in other models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and re-charge cycles on the SpeakEasy 600. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC completed a full cycle to 4.2V cutoff without thermal events.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins — skipping this step causes the percentage readout to drift for several days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SpeakEasy 600

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity fault. Under modem load or screen-on draw, the cell voltage drops sharply below what the fuel gauge IC predicted — the phone reads 25% but the real cell voltage has already crossed the BMS cutoff threshold. It happens when the gauge is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell curve. Run one full discharge cycle from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and the shutdowns stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery was stored below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show nothing — no boot, no charge indicator. Connect the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any buttons; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the voltage clears roughly 2.9V, the BMS releases and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SpeakEasy 600 shows 30% battery but shuts down immediately — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. What you're seeing is a voltage cliff: under modem or screen load, the cell voltage collapses faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, triggering the BMS cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. The gauge is still using the discharge curve from the old degraded cell. Run one full uninterrupted cycle — 100% down to auto-shutdown, then back to 100% — and the coulomb counter will recalibrate to the new cell. The premature shutdowns stop after that cycle.

The battery percentage on my SpeakEasy 600 is jumping around erratically after fitting the replacement — 60%, then 45%, then 55% within minutes.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. It was tuned to the old cell's internal resistance and discharge curve, and the new cell behaves differently enough that the IC's state-of-charge estimate is oscillating. It is not a wiring or BMS fault. Complete one slow, uninterrupted discharge from full charge to automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% without fast-charge enabled. After one full reference cycle the percentage stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my SpeakEasy 600 the moment I fitted this replacement battery — it only trickle-charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs default to a conservative pre-charge current until they verify the new cell's response. The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake only re-enables once the IC confirms the cell voltage is rising normally and no thermal limits are being approached. Let the phone complete one full standard-rate charge to 100% without interrupting it. Fast-charge capability restores itself on subsequent cycles once the charge IC has one clean baseline cycle logged.
