Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Brondi Amico Chic Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ZTBL-4D-01)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion battery rated at 1300mAh (4.81Wh), built to the same cell specification as the original ZTBL-4D-01. It fits the Brondi Amico Chic, Amico Ci Sento, Amico Sicuro, and W6. If the original cell no longer holds charge or powers the phone through a normal day, this is the direct cell swap.
- Amico Chic, Amico Ci Sento, Amico Sicuro, W6 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V nominal rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers the full range. The 60.00 x 43.80 x 4.50mm form factor drops straight into the battery bay on all four devices.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Amico Chic platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge within normal tolerance across the full discharge curve.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Amico Chic reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on the Amico Chic learns the cell's discharge curve over time. When you swap in a new cell, the IC is still running the learned model from the old, degraded battery. The mismatch causes the reported percentage to diverge from actual cell voltage — sometimes by 15–20%. One full discharge down to automatic cutoff, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the coulomb counter and re-anchors the gauge to the new cell's curve.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% charge remaining on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. It happens most often on cells that have been sitting in storage and arrive with a partially depleted state of charge. Charge the replacement cell fully before first use, then run one complete discharge cycle. If the shutdowns persist, check that the charging IC is delivering a full 4.2V terminal voltage at end of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead — the BMS has gone into lockout after the cell voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Most chargers won't initiate a charge cycle on a cell in lockout. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. If the charge IC detects any cell voltage above the recovery floor, it will trickle-charge the cell back up and release the BMS lockout. Once the battery indicator appears on screen, charge fully to 4.2V before using the phone.
The percentage is jumping around erratically — 60% one minute, 45% the next — even with normal use.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and hasn't yet built an accurate state-of-charge model. This is expected behaviour for the first two or three cycles after a cell swap. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it to 100% without interruption — repeat this twice. The coulomb counter will anchor to the new cell's actual capacity and the percentage readout will stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the new battery — the phone just slow-charges now.
On first cycle after a cell swap, the USB charge controller on the Amico Chic sometimes defaults to standard 5V/500mA charging until it completes one handshake negotiation with the new BMS. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge at the slower rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. If fast charging still doesn't resume, confirm the charger output is delivering the correct voltage by testing it on a known-good device.
