Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bissell CrossWave X7 Cordless Plus 3479Z — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650-7S1P)
This 25.2V 3000mAh (75.6Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Bissell CrossWave X7 Cordless Plus 3479Z and CrossWave X7 Cordless Pro 2955Z. Both machines run the same 7-cell series configuration and share this pack. Capacity is taken from the product specification — 3000mAh at 25.2V nominal.
- CrossWave X7 3479Z and 2955Z compatibility: Both the Cordless Plus and Cordless Pro X7 variants use the same 7S1P cell arrangement and identical battery connector and BMS handshake. One pack covers both machines without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles and monitored the BMS under simulated motor load. The protection circuit responded correctly to overcurrent draw and returned to ready state after load removal — consistent with Bissell factory BMS behaviour.
- Dock charging habit on the X7: Do not leave the CrossWave sitting on the charging dock continuously. The X7 dock does not interrupt charge once the pack is full. Trickle charging over days degrades cell capacity noticeably faster than charging only when depleted, then removing.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the X7
The CrossWave X7 runs a brush roll and suction motor simultaneously, so total current draw is higher than a standard vacuum. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder and pulls more current than rated. The BMS reads this as a load spike and reduces output voltage to protect the cells — this shows up as suction loss even though the indicator still reads mid-charge. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before assuming the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The X7 motor draws a surge current when suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or the machine pressing hard into thick carpet. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells and resets after a short thermal pause. Clear the restriction, check the filter is seated correctly, and confirm the dirty water tank is not overfull before restarting — overfull tanks restrict airflow and cause the same trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CrossWave X7 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?
This is motor voltage sag caused by restricted airflow, not a failing battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor pulls above its rated current and the BMS drops output voltage to protect the cells — suction falls even though charge looks fine. Remove and rinse the filter, check the brush roll for hair tangles, and empty the dirty water tank. After clearing the restriction, suction should return to full draw.
The X7 motor shuts off suddenly during cleaning and then comes back on its own — is the battery faulty?
That self-recovering cutout is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a defective cell. Sustained restricted suction — from a clogged filter or overpacked dirty tank — forces the motor to draw more than the BMS allows, so it cuts the circuit and resets after a brief pause. The battery is doing exactly what it should. Fix the airflow restriction first; if the trip keeps happening on a clean filter, verify the brush roll is not jammed and causing the motor to labour.
My X7 used to last a full clean but now it dies much earlier — I haven't changed anything. What causes that?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the X7. The charging dock does not stop supplying current once the pack is full, so cells sitting on the dock for days receive a slow trickle that degrades them over time. Charge the battery only when depleted, then unplug or remove from the dock once it reaches full. If capacity is already reduced, run two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles to let the BMS recalibrate its state-of-charge reading.
