Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Blue Bamboo P25 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (P25-BM2)
This is a 7.4V, 1300mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Blue Bamboo P25 portable payment terminal. It fits the P25, P25M, P25-MFI, and P25i models. The P25-BM2 part number matches the original battery connector, BMS profile, and physical housing dimensions of the stock cell.
- P25 series compatibility: The P25, P25M, P25-MFI, and P25i all share the same battery bay dimensions, 7.4V power rail, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery cell covers the entire lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle and monitored BMS communication with the terminal's charge IC. The protection circuit responded correctly to both charge termination and discharge cutoff events with no error flags.
- First deployment tip: After installing the battery, complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.
Why the P25 reboots mid-transaction after a battery swap
The P25's receipt printer draws a sharp current spike the moment it fires. On a new or recently installed cell, the BMS can interpret that spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit — cutting power mid-transaction. This is most common in the first few cycles before the BMS has logged normal load behaviour. Running two or three complete transaction cycles, including receipts, teaches the BMS what normal draw looks like and stops the false trips.
Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence on new battery
The P25 runs a PCI-compliant boot sequence that requires stable voltage through several hardware checks. A new battery that hasn't completed a full charge-to-discharge cycle may sit at a resting voltage that satisfies the hardware but causes the BMS handshake to time out partway through boot. Connect the terminal to the charger and allow it to reach 100% before powering on. One full boot-charge cycle is usually enough to establish the BMS handshake — after that, cold starts complete normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Blue Bamboo P25 was sitting in a drawer for a few months and now it won't turn on at all — is the battery dead?
Extended storage allows the Li-ion cell to self-discharge below the BMS recovery threshold, which causes the terminal to appear completely dead even when connected to a charger. Leave the terminal on charge for at least 60–90 minutes without interruption — the charge IC needs sustained input voltage to wake the cell from deep-discharge state before normal charging resumes. If the charge LED doesn't respond at all after 90 minutes, check the charger output voltage at the terminal's charge port — it should read 8.4V DC.
The battery indicator on my P25 has been stuck at 99% since I installed the new battery — it won't move to 100%.
This is normal behaviour on a fresh cell. The P25's charge IC enters a top-off mode when the cell reaches near-full voltage, trickling current in slowly before it registers 100% and terminates. This phase can take 30–60 minutes longer than expected because the IC is conditioning the new cell, not malfunctioning. Leave it on charge undisturbed — once top-off completes, the indicator will move to 100% and the charge LED will change state.
My P25 gets noticeably warm during a busy sales period — is that a battery problem or a device problem?
During heavy use, the P25 is simultaneously running the display, wireless radio, and receipt printer — all drawing from the same 7.4V cell. That combined load generates heat at the battery terminals, which is normal within reason. If the terminal is too hot to hold comfortably, let it rest for a few minutes and check whether the printer is being triggered more frequently than usual — printer motor draw is the largest single heat source. A surface temperature that drops quickly during a short rest confirms normal load-driven warming, not a faulty cell.
