Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch P800SL — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (1 609 200 922)
This is a 4.8V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery pack for the Bosch P800SL cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It matches the original voltage and capacity spec, fitting directly into the P800SL battery compartment. OEM part numbers covered: 1 609 200 922, 1 609 390 002, and 4N1200SC-2L.
- P800SL platform fit: The P800SL runs a compact 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH stack. This replacement uses the same cell count and connector orientation, so the battery seats correctly and the vacuum's charge circuit recognises it without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through discharge and recharge on the P800SL platform. The BMS accepted charge normally, voltage held steady under motor load, and the pack reached rated capacity within two break-in cycles.
- Dock charging discipline for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave the P800SL sitting on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells in low-current continuous trickle charge accumulate heat and develop memory effect faster than Li-ion packs. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the P800SL
The P800SL's motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder at the same fan speed. This extra draw pulls cell voltage down faster than the indicator expects, so the vacuum feels weak while the gauge still shows charge. The BMS reads the pack as adequate because resting voltage recovers the moment load drops. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the pack is not the problem.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and then restarting after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction causes current draw to spike beyond the pack's rated threshold, the BMS cuts output to protect the cells, then resets once temperature and current normalise. A worn or degraded original pack hits the trip threshold sooner because aged Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance, which amplifies voltage sag under load. Swap to a fresh pack and clear any filter blockage — if the cutout stops, the original cells were the limiting factor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Bosch P800SL had strong suction when the battery was new but now it fades quickly even after a full charge — is the new battery going to do the same thing?
Capacity fade on the original pack was almost certainly caused by leaving the vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells degrade faster under permanent trickle charge than Li-ion packs do. The replacement pack starts at full rated capacity, but it will follow the same decline curve if left on the dock permanently. Charge to full, then remove the P800SL from the dock and only reconnect it when the pack is depleted. That single change is what prevents early fade.
The P800SL motor cuts out after about 30 seconds of cleaning a thick rug, then restarts if I wait — will a new battery fix this?
That cutout pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by the extra motor load on heavy carpet, and it happens sooner on a degraded pack because aged Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance, which amplifies current draw under load. A fresh pack with lower internal resistance handles the same motor surge without tripping the threshold. Before fitting the replacement, check the filter — a blocked filter multiplies the current spike and can trip even a healthy pack. Fit the new battery, clear the filter, and test on the same carpet to confirm the cutout is gone.
I put the replacement battery in and the P800SL won't charge at all — the charge indicator doesn't light up.
The P800SL's charger uses a voltage-sense circuit to detect the pack before enabling current flow — if the cells arrive slightly discharged below that detection threshold, the charger sees nothing and stays off. Leave the pack connected to the charger for 20–30 minutes without expecting the indicator to light immediately; the circuit will often begin charging once cell voltage climbs past roughly 4.0V. If the indicator still shows nothing after that wait, check that the battery contacts are fully seated in the compartment and that the connector is not misaligned. A firm re-seat resolves this in most cases.
