Fits Hoover RBC030, RBC031B, RBC040, and RBC040019 cordless stick vacuums; replaces OEM part RB219.
14.4V lithium-ion cell delivers 2500mAh capacity — restores full motor power and suction on Hoover handheld vacuums.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush against the housing.
Bench testing showed stable 14.4V output under sustained motor load with no BMS cutoff during normal handheld operation.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity fast; remove from dock once fully charged.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoover RBC030 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RB219)

This is a 14.4V, 2500mAh (36Wh) Li-ion battery for Hoover cordless stick and handheld vacuum models including the RBC030, RBC031B, RBC040, and RBC040019. It replaces OEM part numbers RB219, 35601403, Li-RB226, and 35601727. When the original cell degrades and suction drops off well before the indicator shows low, this is the replacement cell to fit.

  • RBC030 series compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers the full range from RBC030 through to RBC040019 and beyond.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full discharge cycles on an RBC030 and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the vacuum's charge controller — no false low-battery cutoffs and no fault flags during motor spin-up.
  • Dock charging behaviour on this vacuum: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. The RBC030 series does not interrupt trickle current when full, so continuous dock charging accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the cell voltage sags under motor load before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery condition. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than its rated load, which pulls cell voltage down faster than normal. The BMS reads this as a healthy cell at rest but can't sustain the motor's demand under restriction. Clean the filter first — if suction still drops early, the cell itself has degraded and needs replacement.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — the motor draws sustained high current to compensate, and the BMS shuts the output rail to protect the cell. After a short rest, the BMS resets and the motor starts again. Clear the blockage completely and check that the filter is dry before reinstalling — a damp filter restricts airflow just as much as a dirty one and will trigger the same trip cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hoover RBC030 loses suction noticeably before the battery light even flickers — is the battery failing or is something else causing this?

Most likely the filter is partially blocked, forcing the motor to draw above its rated current and dragging cell voltage down faster than the indicator circuit tracks. Clean and fully dry the filter first — if suction still falls off early after that, the cell has degraded and is no longer holding voltage under load. A healthy replacement cell at 14.4V nominal will maintain consistent motor speed through the bulk of the discharge cycle with a clean filter fitted.

The vacuum cuts out after a minute or two on carpet, then works again after I set it down — what's happening?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. Sustained high-current draw — caused by a blocked nozzle, a clogged filter, or heavy carpet resistance — pushes current past the BMS protection threshold and it shuts the output rail. The cell itself is fine; the BMS resets after a short rest, which is why the vacuum starts again. Clear the nozzle path completely, check the filter, and confirm nothing is partially obstructing the brush roll before running it again.

The replacement battery charges fine but the vacuum doesn't seem to last as long as when it was new — is the 2500mAh rating still what I'll get?

If the filter is dirty, the motor draws significantly more than its rated current on every run, and the battery depletes faster than the capacity rating suggests it should. Rated capacity is measured at standard load — a restricted motor is not standard load. Clean the filter thoroughly, run a full charge to 14.4V, then test again. If runtime is still noticeably short after that, check that the charger is cutting off correctly and not leaving the cell in a partial-charge state.
