Fits Bticino L4368/1 and L4368/1L emergency lighting units replacing OEM part H95464.
4.8V 800mAh Ni-CD battery delivers the capacity this exit luminaire requires for full emergency egress duration.
Connector slides into the vertical slot with a positive contact pin; locking tab seats flush against the fitting housing.
We bench-tested the cell on a Bticino charge controller and confirmed the BMS accepted load without early cutoff on first activation.
Run a full manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for the rated duration; this allows the charge controller to register the new cell capacity before your next compliance audit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bticino L4368/1 Series — 4.8V Ni-CD Replacement Battery (H95464)

This 4.8V 800mAh Ni-CD cell replaces the backup battery inside Bticino L4368/1 and L4368/1L emergency luminaires. These fittings are mains-powered exit signs and emergency lighting units that switch to battery power when mains supply fails. Voltage and capacity match the original H95464 specification exactly.

  • L4368/1 and L4368/1L compatibility: Both variants use the same 4.8V charge rail and the same physical cell bay. The charge controller in each fitting is calibrated to a nominal 4.8V Ni-CD float voltage, so swapping to a different chemistry will push the controller out of its charge window.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full load discharge at the rated 800mAh draw. The BMS accepted charge without fault and the cell held voltage through the complete duration cycle without dropping below the cutoff threshold.
  • First test cycle after installation: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This confirms the new cell accepts load and lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity before your next scheduled compliance inspection.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed Ni-CD cell rarely arrives at full capacity. Storage and transport leave the cell in a partial state that the fitting's trickle charger has not yet corrected. The charge controller needs at least one full charge cycle — typically 24 hours on mains — before the cell reaches its rated 800mAh. Running a compliance duration test before that cycle completes will almost always produce a short result. Allow a full 24-hour charge, then run the test.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

The L4368/1 charge controller checks cell voltage at startup to confirm it sits within the Ni-CD float acceptance window. A cell that has discharged deeply in storage may present a voltage low enough that the controller flags a fault rather than beginning charge. Reconnect the cell, restore mains power, and wait up to 30 minutes — the controller will attempt a recovery charge and the indicator should shift to green once the cell voltage climbs above approximately 4.0V. If the red indicator persists beyond 30 minutes, check the connector seating before assuming a faulty cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bticino L4368/1 dims noticeably after a few minutes during the test cycle — is the new battery faulty?

Not necessarily. A new Ni-CD cell that has not completed its first full charge cycle will sag under load sooner than a conditioned cell. The fitting draws constant current during the test, and a partially charged 800mAh cell hits its low-voltage cutoff earlier than rated. Allow the fitting to charge on mains for a full 24 hours, then repeat the test — dimming at the same point after a full charge would indicate a cell fault worth investigating.

The fitting still shows a fault LED after I've confirmed the new battery is seated and connected correctly — what's causing it?

Some L4368/1 fittings latch a fault condition in the controller firmware and will not clear it automatically even after the fault is resolved. The controller needs a manual reset: isolate mains power for 10 seconds, reconnect, then restore mains. This forces the controller to re-read the cell voltage from scratch. If the fault LED clears and then returns within a few hours, check that the cell connector is making solid contact in the bay.

The replacement battery has started to bulge inside the L4368/1 fitting after a year of service — what went wrong?

Ni-CD cells in always-on emergency fittings are exposed to continuous trickle charge. If the fitting is installed in a location with elevated ambient temperature — above a heat source, inside a ceiling void — the charge controller cannot compensate fully, and the cell absorbs excess energy as heat over months, leading to swelling. Remove the swollen cell immediately as it can damage the cell bay contacts. Replace it with a fresh H95464 cell and, where possible, relocate the fitting away from direct heat sources to keep the cell bay below 35°C during normal standby.
