Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bushnell Yardage Pro — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (H604261H)

This 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original H604261H battery in the Bushnell Yardage Pro GPS rangefinder. It fits the Yardage Pro, 36-8100, BUU0057, and E35010M28 models. Capacity is 7.4Wh — matched to the original spec.

  • Yardage Pro platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.7V power rail. The BMS on each accepts this cell without a handshake conflict or charging-mode error.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Yardage Pro platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, reached full charge without tripping an error state, and held voltage within the expected range at load.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors before your round and allow it to acquire a satellite fix. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix typically takes 5–10 minutes, while subsequent warm starts resolve in under a minute.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Yardage Pro

As cell voltage drops toward the lower end of the 3.7V nominal range, some GPS units reduce RF receiver sensitivity to limit current draw. On the Yardage Pro, this can show up as increased distance jitter or sluggish position updates during a round. The fix is straightforward: keep the cell above its low-voltage threshold by topping up before play. A full charge brings the cell to approximately 4.2V — that headroom keeps the receiver running at full sensitivity throughout a standard round.

Yardage Pro shutting off without a low-battery warning

When the original cell ages, its voltage curve flattens and then drops sharply at the end of discharge. The Yardage Pro's battery indicator reads the voltage curve — a degraded cell can show two bars and cut off seconds later because the gauge was calibrated to a fresh cell. A replacement cell restores the original discharge curve, so the indicator tracks accurately again. After fitting this battery, run one full charge cycle to let the gauge recalibrate to 4.2V at full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bushnell Yardage Pro lost all my saved courses after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Yardage Pro stores course data in memory that loses power during a battery swap. Some units use battery-backed RAM, so a full power interruption clears whatever was held there. Preloaded course maps stored in flash are typically retained, but custom POIs or downloaded course updates saved in volatile memory will be gone. Re-download your courses via the Bushnell Golf app or the device's update software after the swap.

After replacing the battery, my Yardage Pro is taking several minutes to show a distance reading — what's happening?

This is a GPS cold start, not a fault with the battery. When power is fully removed, the unit loses its last known satellite position data, so it has to reacquire from scratch. Outdoors with clear sky view, expect 5–10 minutes for first fix after a battery swap versus under a minute for a normal warm start. Stand still in an open area, wait for the satellite indicator to confirm lock, then begin your round.

My Yardage Pro drains noticeably faster during active navigation than when I just leave it on standby — is something wrong with this cell?

Nothing is wrong. Active GPS navigation runs the satellite receiver and the display simultaneously, which draws significantly more current than standby mode where the receiver updates infrequently. On a 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal, that combined draw is the main factor in how long a charge lasts during a full round. Reducing display brightness and switching the backlight to auto are the two most effective ways to reduce drain during active use.
