This is a 2.4V, 750mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Cable & Wireless CWR 2200 cordless DECT phone handset. It replaces the original pack when the handset no longer holds enough charge to complete calls or stay active between docking sessions. Voltage and cell count match the original specification exactly.

• CWR 2200 handset compatibility: The CWR 2200 base station manages charge through a constant-voltage trickle circuit tuned for 2.4V Ni-MH packs. Using any other voltage or chemistry trips the handset's charge management circuit and causes false full-charge readings.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through five full charge and discharge runs. The BMS accepted charge from the first dock without any error light, and capacity stabilised at rated output by cycle three.

New Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need conditioning before they deliver rated capacity. The CWR 2200 charges using a low-current trickle method, which means the first few cycles will feel short. Capacity builds progressively over three to five full charge and discharge cycles. By cycle five, the pack should reach 750mAh and hold charge consistent with the original battery's performance when new.

Base station shows no charge or error light after fitting new pack

A Ni-MH pack that has been in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the CWR 2200 base needs to recognise an active battery. When the base station sees a pack below roughly 2.0V, it reads it as a fault rather than a dead cell that needs charging. Remove the handset, leave it off the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly — this resets the base's charge detection logic. If the error persists, check that the handset contacts and base cradle pins are clean and making full contact.
