Fits Teklogix 7525, 7525C, 7527 WorkAbout Pro models; replaces OEM part 1050494, 1050494-002, WA3006, WA3020.
This 3.7V 3300mAh lithium-ion cell restores full scan cycles to handheld barcode readers used in warehouse and retail pick-and-pack operations.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; contacts align flush when seated fully against the spring clip.
We bench-tested this pack in a 7525 under continuous scan and wireless polling; BMS accepted the charge handshake cleanly with no fault codes.
After installation, place the scanner in its cradle for one complete charge cycle before using in field operations to prevent premature BMS cutoff during high-draw scan bursts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Teklogix 7525 / WorkAbout Pro Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1050494)

This is a 3.7V, 3300mAh lithium-ion battery for the Teklogix 7525, 7525C, and 7527 WorkAbout Pro G1 and G2 handheld barcode scanners. It replaces OEM part numbers 1050494, 1050494-002, WA3006, and WA3020. The WorkAbout Pro platform is common in warehouse pick-and-pack and retail inventory environments where the battery takes heavy daily cycling.

  • WorkAbout Pro G1 and G2 compatibility: The 7525, 7525C, and 7527 share the same battery bay footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits the full range without modification or firmware changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a 7525C unit and cycled it through scan-burst and wireless polling sequences. The BMS held charge termination cleanly and did not trip on the scan trigger inrush current at low state of charge.
  • First shift prep — WorkAbout Pro cradle cycling: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in the charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum voltage, and a fully charged cell prevents a false BMS cutoff during the first hour of use.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The WorkAbout Pro cradle uses contact pins that oxidise with regular use. When contact resistance climbs, the cradle misreads the pack's charge state and throws an error LED or alarm. This is a dock contact issue, not a battery fault. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle bay with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the charge indicator should reset within 30 seconds.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The 7525 and 7527 draw simultaneously from the radio stack and the scan engine during a fast burst sequence. At low cell voltage, that combined inrush can pull the supply rail below the radio module's minimum operating threshold, causing the wireless link to drop mid-session. This is not a radio fault or a network issue. Charge the pack to full before a high-volume shift and check that cell voltage reads at least 3.6V before starting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My 7525 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

The scan engine laser or imager needs a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack shipped at storage charge may not be high enough on arrival. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge the pack to full before attempting a scan. We confirmed on the bench that the 7525C scan engine reads cleanly once cell voltage is above 3.6V. If the scanner still won't read after a full charge, wipe the battery contacts and reseat the pack.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours on the shift floor — is that normal?

Sustained wireless polling combined with repeated scan-engine firing generates real heat inside the WorkAbout Pro's enclosed housing. The pack itself contributes less heat than the radio and processor, but the housing traps all of it. This is within normal operating range for the platform. If the unit is too hot to hold comfortably, check that the scan trigger isn't being held continuously — intermittent fire cycles keep thermal load lower.

This new battery isn't lasting as long as the old one did in its first month — what's happening?

New lithium-ion cells reach full capacity after three to five full charge-discharge cycles, not on the first use. Shallow cycling — pulling the scanner off the cradle at 80% repeatedly — also limits how much usable capacity the BMS learns to deliver. Run the pack down to the scanner's low-battery warning, then charge fully in the cradle, and repeat that cycle three times. After that, measured shift endurance should match or exceed the original pack's early performance.
