Fits CAT S61 smartphone, replaces OEM part number APP00262 battery directly.
3.8V 4000mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers standard capacity for full-day operational use on S61.
Connector type matches original slot orientation; no adapter needed, installs flush against housing frame.
We bench-tested this cell on S61 charging circuit — BMS accepted full voltage handshake, fuel gauge IC initialized on first power cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CAT S61 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (APP00262)

This 3.8V 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original APP00262 cell in the CAT S61 rugged smartphone. It fits the S61 directly and matches the original voltage, capacity, and connector. At 15.2Wh, it restores the power the S61 needs to run its thermal camera, air quality sensor, and LTE modem under load.

  • CAT S61 fit: The S61 runs a sealed unibody chassis with a dedicated Li-Polymer bay. The APP00262 cell matches the original BMS handshake, connector pinout, and 69.70 × 61.00 × 6.80mm form factor — no flex cable rerouting required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full discharge and charge under sustained screen-on and modem load. The BMS held voltage within spec across the discharge curve and engaged cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The S61's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one slow cycle lets it remap against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the CAT S61 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. The S61's Qualcomm modem, thermal camera module, and display draw simultaneous current spikes that pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. It happens because the coulomb counter inherited state-of-charge data from the previous cell and has not yet mapped the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve. Run one full discharge to near-zero, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

CAT S61 not powering on after sitting in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell drops below 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks all charge current to prevent thermal runaway on an over-discharged cell. The S61 will show no charge indicator and will not respond to the power button. Connect it to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes. Most BMS controllers will accept a trickle recovery charge once input voltage is detected; the screen will eventually show the charging indicator and normal boot becomes possible once the cell climbs above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CAT S61 shuts off instantly when I open the thermal camera app, even with 25% showing — is the new battery faulty?

It is not a faulty cell — it is a voltage cliff. The thermal camera and LTE modem fire simultaneously, pulling a current spike the fuel gauge did not predict because it is still reading the old cell's discharge curve. The percentage display becomes unreliable until the coulomb counter remaps against the new cell. Run one full discharge to near-zero and charge back to 100% without interruption — after that cycle the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my CAT S61 — USB-PD shows slow charge only.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not immediately negotiate the fast-charge handshake with the S61's charge IC. The phone falls back to standard 5V charging as a safety default. Complete one full slow charge cycle to 100%, then unplug and reboot the device. On the second charge cycle the BMS and charge IC renegotiate correctly and fast charging resumes — no hardware fault involved.

The battery percentage on my CAT S61 keeps jumping — it reads 60%, drops to 41%, then climbs back without charging.

The fuel gauge IC is still recalibrating. It uses a coulomb counter that was trained on the old cell's impedance and discharge curve — the new cell has different internal characteristics and the counter is correcting in real time as it gathers data. The jumping settles after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles. Discharge the phone to under 5% on normal use, charge to 100% uninterrupted, and repeat once more if the jumps persist — the fuel gauge locks onto the new curve and stabilises.
