Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CATERPILLAR S62 Pro — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (APP00317)
This is a 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Caterpillar S62 Pro rugged smartphone. It carries OEM part number APP00317 and matches the original cell's dimensions at 72.20 x 59.50 x 5.70mm. Fit it when your S62 Pro no longer holds charge, shuts down unexpectedly, or the existing cell has swollen.
- S62 Pro cell fit: The S62 Pro runs a single Li-Polymer cell behind the rear panel. The BMS connector, cell dimensions, and voltage rail are specific to this model — cells from the S61 or S52 will not align with the connector or clear the chassis cavity.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the S62 Pro platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered cleanly at 4.35V, and the coulomb counter tracked state-of-charge without jumps past the first full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell, preventing early percentage reporting errors.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the S62 Pro replacement cell
The S62 Pro's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC's stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. Under modem load or display-on bursts, the cell's real voltage drops below the IC's shutdown threshold before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone cuts out at what looks like 20–30% remaining. One full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter against the new cell curve and stops the premature cutoff.
USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after swap
After fitting this cell, some S62 Pro units will not accept the fast charge handshake on the first charging session. The charge IC reads the new cell's initial impedance as outside the expected range and falls back to standard 5V charging as a precaution. This is not a fault with the cell or the charger. Complete one full standard charge cycle to 100%, then reconnect — the charge IC rechecks impedance on the next session and the fast charge protocol resumes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My S62 Pro won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
A Li-Polymer cell stored without a partial charge can drop below 2.5V, triggering BMS lockout. The BMS cuts output to protect the cell from over-discharge damage, so the phone shows nothing when you press power. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. Once the cell recovers past the BMS re-enable threshold (around 3.0V), the phone will show a charging indicator and boot normally.
The battery percentage on my S62 Pro jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then skips to 60%, then drops back down.
The fuel gauge IC on the S62 Pro uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. After a cell swap, the stored curve no longer matches the new cell, so the IC interpolates incorrectly and the percentage jumps. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. That single cycle gives the IC enough data to remap its curve against the new cell and the percentage will stabilise.
The S62 Pro gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after fitting the new cell — is something wrong?
Mild warmth on the first two or three charge cycles is normal with a fresh high-impedance Li-Polymer cell. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell whose internal resistance has not yet settled, and some of that energy dissipates as heat. We measured surface temperatures on the bench during this phase — they stayed within safe limits and dropped to normal levels by the third cycle. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning on-screen, disconnect immediately and check that the cell connector is fully seated flat.
