Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CECOTEC 05429 / Conga 2090 Vision — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 14.4V 3500mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the CECOTEC 05429 and Conga 2090 Vision cordless stick vacuums. When the original cell degrades and suction becomes noticeably weaker mid-clean, this is the part that restores full motor voltage. Capacity is 3500mAh (50.4Wh), matching the factory specification.
- 05429 and Conga 2090 Vision fit: Both models run the same 14.4V architecture and share an identical battery bay connector and BMS handshake requirement. One pack covers both platforms without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on a 14.4V vacuum motor load. The BMS held charge cutoff at the correct upper threshold and tripped overcurrent protection cleanly when the motor draw spiked under a blockage simulation.
- Dock charging practice on the Conga 2090 Vision: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the dock continuously between uses. The Conga 2090 Vision charging circuit does not cut power once the pack is full, so leaving it docked indefinitely accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens because the motor draws higher current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, which pulls the pack voltage down faster than the indicator circuit expects. The indicator reads state of charge, not motor load, so it can show two bars while suction is already noticeably weak. Clean or replace the filter first before concluding the battery is at fault. If suction recovers after a filter clean, the pack is likely fine.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a heavily loaded brush roll, current draw exceeds the BMS threshold and it interrupts output to protect the cells. The BMS resets itself after a short cooldown, which is why power returns. Clear the blockage, check the brush roll for hair wrap, and check that the filter is clean. If trips continue on a clear vacuum, verify the pack is reading at least 14.4V fully charged before suspecting a cell fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CECOTEC Conga 2090 Vision won't charge after I fitted this replacement battery — the charger light stays off or flashes differently than before.
Some chargers on the Conga 2090 Vision expect a specific BMS handshake before initiating the charge cycle. Disconnect the battery, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect — this resets the BMS communication state and allows the charger to re-initiate. If the charger still does not respond, check the dock pins for dust or corrosion and clean them with a dry cloth. After reconnecting, the charger indicator should settle to a steady charge state within 60 seconds; if it does not, verify the dock is supplying the correct 16–18V output with a multimeter.
The battery on my 05429 seems to have lost a lot of capacity after only a few months — it ran much longer when new.
Capacity fade this early almost always traces back to continuous dock charging. If the vacuum sat on the dock plugged in between every use, the pack absorbed a low-level trickle charge continuously, which degrades Li-ion cells faster than normal cycling. Going forward, charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock rather than storing it docked. A new pack treated this way will hold capacity significantly longer than one left on permanent charge.
My Conga 2090 Vision suction is noticeably weaker on thick carpet compared to hard floors — battery or something else?
Thick carpet increases brush roll resistance and restricts airflow, which pushes motor current draw above the normal operating range. That extra draw pulls cell voltage down under load even when the pack is fully charged, and lower voltage means less motor torque — which reads as weak suction. Check the brush roll for hair or fibre wrap and confirm the filter is clean before suspecting the battery. If suction on hard floors is still strong, the pack is delivering voltage correctly and the issue is mechanical restriction, not cell capacity.
