Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Eureka NEC390BL / Stylus Elite Series — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP25925B)
This is a 25.9V 2500mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Eureka NEC390BL, Stylus Elite, and Stylus Elite Anti-Tangle cordless stick vacuums. It matches the OEM part number BP25925B and uses the same voltage and cell configuration as the original pack. Capacity is 2500mAh (64.75Wh), sourced to match the factory specification.
- NEC390BL and Stylus Elite compatibility: These models share the same 25.9V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A pack rated at a different voltage will not initialise — the motor controller checks the BMS before allowing power draw.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the NEC390BL platform. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start inrush, held voltage under sustained carpet load, and tripped cleanly on overcurrent without locking out the controller.
- Dock charging on the Stylus Elite: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging on these models accelerates capacity fade noticeably faster than charging only when the battery is depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the NEC390BL
The NEC390BL motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter can push draw well above the rated load. Under that extra load, cell voltage sags earlier than the indicator expects, so suction weakens while the LED still shows a healthy charge. This is not a faulty battery; it is the BMS protecting cells from over-discharge under abnormal draw. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — suction should hold consistent through the full discharge cycle.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum picks up a blockage or runs against dense carpet with a restricted filter, current spikes beyond the pack's rated threshold and the BMS shuts the output rail to protect the cells. After a few seconds the BMS resets and power returns. Clear any blockage, check the filter, and resume — if the cutout repeats on a clean filter with no obstruction, verify the charger completed a full cycle to at least 29.4V before the next run.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Eureka Stylus Elite has noticeably less suction than it used to, but the battery indicator still shows full — what's happening?
A partially blocked filter forces the motor to pull more current than rated, which causes cell voltage to sag under load well before the indicator responds. The LED reads resting voltage, not load voltage, so it can show full charge while suction is already weak. Clean or replace the filter and retest — if suction recovers, the filter was the cause, not the battery. If suction is still weak after a clean filter, the original cell pack has likely lost capacity and this replacement will restore output.
I left my NEC390BL on the charging dock for a few weeks and now it barely runs — did the charger damage the battery?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on these vacuums. The dock does not fully cut power when the pack reaches 100%, so cells sit under a low-level trickle charge that degrades them faster than normal cycling. A replacement pack will restore capacity, but the same dock behaviour will shorten its life too. Charge only when depleted, then remove the vacuum from the dock once the indicator shows full.
The replacement battery fitted but the vacuum won't start — the motor doesn't respond at all when I press the trigger.
The NEC390BL motor controller runs a BMS handshake before allowing any power draw, and a deeply discharged or newly fitted pack can sometimes sit below the threshold needed to pass that check. Seat the battery firmly, place it on the charger for at least 15 minutes, then retry the trigger. If the charger light does not come on at all, check that the dock contacts are clean and making full contact with the pack. Once the pack reads above approximately 22V on the BMS, the controller should initialise and the motor will respond normally.
