Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec Conga 1690 / 1890 / 2290 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (49CE1403)
This 14.8V 3000mAh (44.4Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Cecotec Conga 1690, Conga 1690 Pro, Conga 1890, Conga 2290, and nine additional Conga variants. It uses an INR18650 MH1 4S2P cell arrangement matched to the OEM BMS handshake profile. Capacity figures come from the product specification — not estimated from web sources.
- Conga 1690 / 1890 / 2290 platform fit: These models share a common 14.8V four-cell rail, the same physical connector, and an identical BMS communication protocol. A single pack covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on a Conga 1690 chassis. The BMS accepted the handshake on first connection, cell balancing engaged correctly, and the motor controller did not flag a fault during sustained floor-cleaning loads.
- Dock charging habit for Conga robots: Do not leave the Conga sitting on the charging dock between uses indefinitely. Continuous trickle charge from the dock degrades Li-ion cell capacity faster than normal cycle use. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next cleaning run.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The Conga 1690 motor controller monitors pack voltage under load, not at rest. When cells age and internal resistance rises, voltage sags sharply the moment the motor ramps up — particularly on carpet. The controller reads this sag as a low-battery condition and throttles suction output, even though the resting voltage still looks acceptable. A replacement pack with fresh cells restores the full voltage window the motor controller expects, eliminating the early throttle.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery capacity issue. It happens when the suction path is partially blocked — a clogged filter forces the motor to draw current beyond the BMS protection threshold, which shuts the output to protect the cells. The BMS resets once current demand drops, which is why suction returns after a brief pause. Clean or replace the filter first; if the cutout stops, the pack itself is not the cause. If the cutout continues with a clean filter, check that pack voltage at rest reads above 15.5V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Conga 1690 lose suction power well before the battery light shows low?
The battery indicator reads resting voltage, but the motor controller monitors voltage under load. Aged cells have higher internal resistance, so pack voltage sags as soon as the motor draws current — the controller throttles suction early even though the resting reading looks fine. This is a cell degradation symptom, not a sensor fault. Fit a replacement pack and the full voltage window is restored.
The Conga cuts out for a few seconds during cleaning, then starts again on its own — what's causing that?
That is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, typically triggered by a partially restricted suction path. A clogged filter makes the motor work harder, pulling current past the BMS protection threshold, which cuts the output briefly to protect the cells. Remove, clean, or replace the filter and test again. If the cutout stops, the pack is fine; if it continues with a clean filter on a new pack, verify the charger is bringing pack voltage to at least 16.6V at end of charge.
My Conga 1890 isn't running as long as it used to even after a full charge — is this the battery or something else?
Most of the time it is a partially blocked filter drawing the motor above its rated current, which burns through available charge faster than the rated figure assumes. Clean the filter first and check the brush roll for tangled debris. If runtime is still noticeably shorter after that, the original cells have likely undergone capacity fade from continuous dock charging — Li-ion cells trickle-charged through a permanent dock connection lose usable capacity over time. Fit this replacement pack and remove the unit from the dock once the charge indicator shows full.
