This is a 32.4V Li-ion battery pack rated at 2500mAh (81Wh), built to fit the Tefal TY8895, TY8995, TY8996, and TY8895KO cordless stick vacuums. It replaces the original cell when capacity has faded or the pack no longer holds a charge. Voltage and connector match the original specification.

  • TY8895 and TY8995 series compatibility: These models share the same 32.4V battery platform, connector, and BMS communication protocol. One cell fits the full range because the motor controller and charge circuit are common across the series.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and discharge on the TY8895 platform. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start current draw and held steady voltage through sustained suction load without tripping overcurrent protection.
  • Dock charging habit on stick vacs: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the dock permanently between uses. Continuous trickle charge from the dock accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion packs. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low

The TY8895 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling the cell voltage down under load even when the pack still reads as charged. The BMS reads this voltage sag as a near-depleted cell and reduces motor power to protect the pack. Suction feels weak but the indicator light hasn't triggered yet. Clean the filter first, then recharge the pack fully before testing again.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When airflow is blocked — by a clogged filter or a partial blockage at the nozzle — sustained restricted suction causes the motor to pull current beyond the BMS threshold. The BMS shuts the output to protect the cells, then resets once the pack cools slightly. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and restart. If it trips again immediately on a clean filter, measure open-circuit voltage on the pack — it should read at least 32V when fully charged.

Not necessarily. On the TY8895, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls cell voltage down under load — the BMS then reduces motor power before the low-battery indicator triggers. Clean the filter thoroughly and recharge the pack fully before testing again. If suction holds consistently after that, the battery is fine.

The vacuum keeps cutting out and restarting on its own during cleaning — what's causing it?

This is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, usually triggered by sustained restricted airflow at the nozzle or filter rather than a battery fault. The BMS cuts the output to protect the cells, then resets after a brief cool-down. Check the filter and clear any blockage at the nozzle head, then restart. If it trips again immediately on a clear airflow path, charge the pack fully and confirm it reads at least 32V open-circuit before use.

The replacement battery doesn't seem to be taking a full charge — the dock light cycles off quickly and the vacuum still cuts out early.

Some Tefal chargers perform a BMS handshake before committing to a full charge cycle. If the replacement pack has been stored in a deeply discharged state, the charger may not recognise it as a valid pack and terminates early. Remove the pack from the dock, wait two minutes, and reinsert it to trigger a fresh handshake. If the charger still drops off early, check that the dock contacts are clean and making firm contact with the battery terminals.
