Sustained restricted suction — brush roll tangle, blocked inlet, or a saturated filter — causes the motor to spike current beyond the pack's continuous output rating. The BMS disconnects to protect the cells, then resets once temperature and current normalise. Clear the obstruction, confirm airflow is unrestricted, and verify the brush roll spins freely. If the cutout stops after that, the battery and BMS are functioning correctly.
