Fits Clevo 2820, 2830, and 2850 notebooks; replaces OEM part XLB0034.
14.8V, 3600mAh rated pack delivers 53.28Wh total capacity for standard portable use.
Connector and locking tab match OEM hardware; slides into slot with no modification needed.
We bench-tested the cell against a stock 2820 unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo 2820 / 2830 / 2850 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XLB0034)

This is a 14.8V, 3600mAh (53.28Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Clevo 2820, 2830, and 2850 notebook series. It replaces OEM part number XLB0034. If your original cell no longer holds charge or the laptop drops off battery immediately, this is the direct swap.

  • 2820, 2830, and 2850 compatibility: All three models share the same 14.8V four-cell architecture, the same connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers the whole group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and BMS communication checks. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-voltage and under-voltage thresholds, and the pack reported state-of-charge cleanly to the host system.
  • Post-install calibration on Clevo notebooks: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery only, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Clevo BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM and compares it against the previous cell's charge history. When a new cell goes in, the EEPROM data no longer matches the actual chemistry, so the system flags the battery as degraded before it has ever cycled. This is a firmware read error, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn cycle and resolves the warning.

Laptop shuts down hard at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge still maps percentage readings to the old cell's profile, so what shows as 25% is already at or below the BMS low-voltage cutoff — typically around 10.8V for a four-cell 14.8V pack. The BMS triggers a hard shutdown to protect the cells before the OS can log the event. Complete two full discharge-and-charge cycles to let the fuel gauge IC resample the new cell's curve and restore accurate percentage readings.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Clevo 2820 shows 0% or "unknown battery" in Windows right after fitting the new cell — is the battery dead?

The fuel gauge IC is reading EEPROM data left over from the old cell and cannot yet map the new cell's voltage curve to a percentage. The battery is not faulty. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that first complete cycle, the gauge IC re-samples the new cell and the reading returns to normal.

Windows Battery Report is showing the wrong Wh rating for this cell — it says something much lower than 53.28Wh.

The Wh figure in Battery Report is pulled from the EEPROM on the old cell's data record, not measured live from the new one. The EEPROM rated value and the actual chemistry capacity differ until the BIOS learn cycle completes. Run the laptop through a full discharge to hibernate then charge to 100%, and check the report again — the design capacity entry should update to reflect the actual 53.28Wh rating.

The Clevo 2820 won't charge past 80% even with the new battery installed — what's causing that?

Many Clevo BIOS versions include a charge-limit setting, sometimes labelled "Battery Charge Mode" or similar, that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. This is a firmware control, not a fault in the replacement cell. Enter the BIOS setup (typically F2 at POST), locate the battery or power settings section, and set the charge threshold to 100%. Save and reboot — the battery will then charge to its full 3600mAh capacity.
