Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage has dropped below 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. The phone will show no response — no boot screen, no charging indicator — because the BMS is refusing the charge request. Connect to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes; the charge IC on the 8017-T00 trickle-charges a locked-out cell at low current until voltage climbs above the 2.8V recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Run one full, uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without removing the cable — this gives the IC a complete cycle to build a new curve. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my 8017-T00 right after I put the new battery in — the phone just charges slowly now. Is the battery faulty?

This is a first-cycle behaviour, not a fault. The charge IC on the 8017-T00 runs an impedance check on the new cell before enabling high-current mode, and a fresh cell out of storage often reads slightly higher internal resistance than a conditioned one. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle first. On the second charge session, the IC typically re-enables the faster charge rate once it has a baseline impedance reading for the new cell.

My Coolpad 8017-T00 feels warm near the battery during charging after the replacement — is that normal?

Some warmth during the constant-current phase of charging is expected, especially in the first few cycles on a new cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, which means a small amount of extra heat is dissipated during CC-phase charging. If the phone is uncomfortable to hold or the warmth persists into the constant-voltage tail phase, remove the case to improve airflow and charge on a flat, hard surface.
