Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad 8076D / 5217 / 8076 / 7060 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-110)
This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Coolpad 8076D, 5217, 8076, and 7060 smartphones. It uses OEM part number CPLD-110 and slots into the same battery bay as the original cell. If your phone won't hold a charge or shuts down unexpectedly, this cell replaces the degraded original.
- Coolpad 8076D, 5217, 8076, and 7060 compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and CPLD-110 connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the group, so one cell fits all four without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 8076D platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering protection cutoff, and the charge IC completed a full charge cycle to 4.2V without thermal intervention.
- First-cycle fast charge tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Coolpad 8076D after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue. The fuel gauge IC on the 8076D was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original, worn cell. When the phone reads 20–30% on the new cell, the voltage under modem and screen load drops faster than the IC expects, triggering an emergency shutdown. It is not a fault in the replacement cell. One full discharge-charge cycle — down to automatic shutdown, then charged uninterrupted to 100% — resets the coulomb counter and removes the cliff.
OS reporting wrong battery percentage after CPLD-110 installation
The Coolpad fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model from the previous cell. A new 1400mAh cell with a different internal resistance profile will read incorrectly until the IC re-learns the curve. You may see the percentage jump erratically or stall at a fixed number. Run the phone from 100% down to automatic shutdown without interruption, then charge back to full without disconnecting — this gives the IC one complete dataset to recalibrate against the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Coolpad 8076D won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle enough current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold before the phone will respond. If the charging LED or screen shows any sign of life within that window, continue charging uninterrupted to 100%.
Fast charging stopped working on my Coolpad after I put in the new CPLD-110 battery — was it working before?
Yes, fast charge working before a cell swap and not after is a known first-cycle behaviour. The charge IC negotiates the fast charge protocol after reading the new cell's impedance profile, and on the first cycle it often defaults to standard current as a safety measure. Run one full standard charge cycle to 100%, let the phone cool to room temperature, then plug back in — the IC will renegotiate and fast charge should resume on the second cycle.
The Coolpad 8076D feels warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — should I stop charging?
Mild warmth on the first few cycles is normal. A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. If the phone is hot to the touch or the charger disconnects before reaching 100%, stop the charge and check that the battery connector is seated flat with no bent pins. Normal warmth resolves by the third cycle as the cell's impedance settles.
