Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Powerscan 4420 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (11-0023)
This 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Datalogic Powerscan 4420 handheld barcode scanner. It fits scanners used in retail, warehouse, and inventory environments where scan cycles run continuously across a full shift. OEM part numbers 11-0023 and 95ACC1302 cross-reference to this pack.
- Powerscan 4420 fit: The 4420 uses a dedicated battery bay with a three-contact interface that links the cell to the scanner's onboard BMS. Voltage must sit at 3.7V nominal — any deviation causes the scanner firmware to reject the pack at initialisation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger draws and monitored BMS response across low, mid, and high state-of-charge. Cell voltage held stable under burst trigger loads, and the protection circuit responded correctly at both over-discharge and over-temperature thresholds.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and complete a full charge cycle before use. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge — starting the first shift on a full cell prevents false BMS trips during the initial high-frequency scan bursts.
Cradle showing charging error after new pack installation
The Powerscan 4420 cradle reads pack status through the contact pins on the battery face. If those contacts carry oxidation, dust, or residue from the old pack, the cradle registers a communication fault and flags a charging error rather than beginning the charge cycle. This is contact resistance, not a faulty battery. Wipe the three contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and the cradle should show a normal charging indicator within a few seconds.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The 4420 draws simultaneously from the radio transceiver and the scan trigger during high-frequency bursts. When the cell is below roughly 3.5V, that combined inrush pulls voltage down fast enough for the BMS to momentarily reduce current, which drops the radio link before the scanner can finish transmitting the read. The connection drop is not a wireless configuration issue — it is a low-cell-voltage symptom. Charge the battery to full before starting a burst-heavy scanning session and the radio stays connected through the combined draw.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Powerscan 4420 won't read barcodes after I put in the new battery — is it the laser?
The imager or laser in the 4420 requires stable voltage to fire at sufficient power for a clean decode. If the new pack was installed near-depleted, the cell voltage may be too low to drive the scan engine properly even though the scanner appears to power on. Put the scanner in its cradle and charge fully before testing — once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, the scan engine fires at rated power and reads should return to normal.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous scanning — is that normal?
Sustained scanning combined with constant wireless polling generates real heat inside the 4420's enclosed housing, and the battery pack absorbs some of that thermal load. A slightly warm pack after a long shift is expected. If the pack becomes hot to the touch or the scanner shows a temperature warning, the BMS is likely throttling output to protect the cell — move the scanner to a cooler environment, let it rest for five minutes, then reseat it in the cradle and resume charging at a cell voltage of no lower than 3.0V.
The new battery drains much faster than the old one did when it was new — what's causing that?
Fast drain on a new pack in the 4420 is almost always scan frequency and wireless polling interval working together. High-speed continuous scanning in dense RF environments — like a busy warehouse with multiple active scanners — raises the radio duty cycle significantly, which compounds the draw beyond what intermittent retail scanning requires. Check the scanner's RF channel configuration and, if possible, reduce the polling rate in the host system settings. If drain persists after adjusting those settings, confirm the cell is reaching a full charge of 4.2V at the cradle contacts before each shift.
