Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic H300 1D / H300 2D Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JT-H200BT-20)
This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM pack in the Panasonic H300 1D, H300 2D, JT-H300HT, and JT-H303HT handheld barcode scanners. These are portable data collection devices used in retail, warehousing, and inventory environments where scanner uptime is tied directly to shift productivity. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly — no firmware flags, no dock rejection.
- H300 series platform fit: The 1D, 2D, JT-H300HT, and JT-H303HT all share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that's why one cell covers all four models. Swapping between variants carries no compatibility risk.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger bursts combined with active wireless polling — the two highest simultaneous draw events this scanner produces. The BMS held stable across both inrush spikes without tripping into protection mode.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before pulling it onto the floor. Scan-trigger inrush current is at its highest when the cell is near minimum charge, and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips at the start of an active shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
H300 cradles communicate with the battery pack through spring-loaded dock contacts. If those contacts have oxidation, debris, or misalignment, the cradle throws a charging fault even with a fully functional new cell. The dock reads contact resistance as a handshake failure, not a battery fault. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly until you hear the click, and confirm the charging LED changes state within 10 seconds.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During fast-pace scanning, the H300 pulls current simultaneously from the scan engine and the wireless radio — the combined inrush can cause a brief voltage sag at the cell terminals. If the pack is old or already partially depleted, that sag dips below the radio module's minimum operating voltage and the wireless link drops. A fresh, fully charged cell maintains terminal voltage above 3.5V through the combined draw and keeps the radio link stable. If dropouts persist on a charged new pack, check that the battery bay contacts are clean and fully seated.

Frequently Asked Questions
The H300 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I put the new battery in — did I get a bad cell?
Almost always, this is a charge level issue, not a faulty pack. The scan engine needs stable voltage to fire the laser or imager, and a freshly installed cell may ship at storage charge — too low for reliable scan-trigger operation. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before use. Once the LED confirms a full charge, the scanner should read without issue.
My H300 runs noticeably warm after a long shift — is something wrong with the battery?
Heat buildup in the H300 during extended shifts is normal. The housing is compact, and sustained scan activity combined with continuous wireless polling generates steady current draw through a small pack with limited airflow around it. The cell's BMS will throttle or cut off if internal temperature exceeds safe limits, so warmth alone isn't a fault. If the scanner becomes hot to the touch or shuts off mid-shift, let it cool for 10 minutes before reseating in the cradle — the BMS resets once temperature drops to a safe threshold.
This new battery seems to run out faster than my old OEM pack did — what's causing that?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest variables affecting how long a charge lasts in the H300 — neither is a battery defect. High-volume scanning with an always-on wireless connection draws considerably more than light-use sessions. Also check whether the scanner's backlight or display timeout settings have changed, as extended screen-on time adds measurable draw on a 1800mAh cell. If the pack still feels short after a full first charge cycle, check the cradle contacts for resistance — a partial charge from a dirty dock will reduce usable capacity from the start.
