Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HandHeld Nautiz X1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NX1-1003)
This 3.7V 1700mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the HandHeld Nautiz X1 rugged mobile computer. The Nautiz X1 is a compact handheld used in warehouse scanning, field data collection, and logistics — anywhere continuous uptime matters. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original spec exactly.
- Nautiz X1 platform fit: The X1 uses a slim cell form factor — 66.40 × 45.70 × 4.90 mm — with a BMS that monitors voltage and temperature through a dedicated contact array. This replacement matches that connector layout and communicates correctly with the device's power management firmware, so the battery indicator reads accurately from the first power-on.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated scan-burst loads — combined imager trigger draws plus active wireless polling. The BMS held stable across repeated inrush events and did not trigger a false low-voltage cutoff at any point during testing.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: Before running the Nautiz X1 on a live shift, place it in the charging cradle for a complete charge cycle after installing this pack. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge, and a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips during the first high-frequency scan burst of the day.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new Nautiz X1 pack
The Nautiz X1 cradle reads battery state through gold pogo-pin contacts on the base of the device. If those contacts have oxidation, dust, or residue from a previous worn pack, the dock can misread resistance and flag a charging fault even on a fully functional new battery. This is not a pack defect — it is a contact issue. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, reseat the device firmly, and the error clears in most cases. If the fault persists, check that the cradle supply voltage is stable at the rated input before replacing anything else.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the Nautiz X1 draws simultaneous current for the imager and the wireless radio. On a degraded or low-charge cell, this combined inrush can drag cell voltage below the BMS protection threshold momentarily, causing the radio stack to drop and reconnect. The symptom looks like a network or Wi-Fi issue, but the root cause is voltage sag under combined load. Starting each shift with a fully charged pack keeps cell voltage above 3.5V under dual-load draw and eliminates the drop-outs.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Nautiz X1 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the scanner just beeps but doesn't decode. What's wrong?
The imager in the Nautiz X1 needs a stable voltage above a minimum threshold to fire correctly — if the replacement pack shipped at storage charge (typically around 3.0–3.2V), the imager draw alone can trip the BMS before a full decode completes. This is not a faulty scanner or a faulty battery. Put the unit in the cradle and charge it fully before the first scan attempt. Once the cell is above 3.6V, the imager fires cleanly and decoding resumes normally.
Our Nautiz X1 units run noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous scanning. Is that a battery problem?
Sustained heat during a long scanning shift is normal for the X1 form factor — the housing is compact, and combined imager plus wireless draw generates steady internal current flow with limited airspace to dissipate it. The battery itself contributes when it is working harder than necessary, which happens when contacts are dirty and resistance is higher than spec. Wipe the battery base contacts and cradle pins, confirm the pack is fully charged at shift start, and check that the wireless polling interval in your scanning app is not set unnecessarily high — reducing radio frequency is the fastest way to lower thermal load.
The Nautiz X1 shows a full battery icon at the start of the shift but the low-battery warning appears far sooner than expected. Why does the gauge look wrong?
The Nautiz X1 calibrates its fuel gauge against the BMS data on the first few charge-discharge cycles after a new pack is installed. If the unit was powered through a partial cycle or removed from the cradle before reaching 100%, the gauge model is working from incomplete data and reports inaccurately. Run two full charge cycles — charge to 100% in the cradle, then use the scanner until the device auto-shuts at low voltage cutoff (approximately 3.0V), then charge fully again. After those two cycles the fuel gauge tracks the actual cell state correctly.
