Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Intermec CV41 / VM1376 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (160000-0000)
This 10.8V 3400mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Intermec CV41 mobile computer and VM1376. The CV41 is a rugged handheld used in warehouse, logistics, and retail environments for barcode scanning and data collection. Voltage and cell chemistry match OEM spec exactly.
- CV41 and VM1376 compatibility: Both models share the same 10.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack fits either unit without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the CV41 platform. The BMS accepted full charge without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to simulated over-discharge at 9.0V cutoff.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle for a complete charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current spikes highest when the cell is near minimum — starting from a full charge prevents false BMS trips during high-frequency scanning bursts early in the shift.
Cradle showing charging error on a new CV41 battery pack
A charging error on the CV41 dock after a battery swap is almost always contact resistance, not a faulty cell. Dock contacts accumulate dust and oxidation from warehouse environments, and a new pack with slightly different contact pressure can break the connection the old degraded pack had worn into. Wipe the battery contacts and dock contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the pack is fine — the dock contact was the fault.
CV41 dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During high-frequency scanning, the CV41 draws from both the imager and the wireless radio simultaneously. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio drops its connection before the scanner fully cuts out — the imager stays on but the data link fails. This typically appears mid-shift when the pack is below 30% charge. Keeping the pack above 20% state of charge during active scan sessions prevents the voltage from sagging below the radio's minimum operating threshold, which sits around 9.5V under load on this platform.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CV41 stops reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — is the battery dead?
The battery is not dead — the imager draws a sharp inrush current on the first trigger pull, and if the pack has not been through a full charge cycle, the BMS can trip and cut power to the imager for a fraction of a second, causing a missed read. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before the first use. After a complete charge cycle, the imager trigger current sits well within the BMS's allowed discharge rate and reads reliably.
The CV41 runs noticeably fewer scan sessions than the old battery did even when new — why?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling together set the real-world draw on this platform — both run simultaneously every time the trigger fires. If the pick-and-pack pace has increased or the wireless polling interval has been shortened by your WMS config, total current draw goes up and the pack depletes faster even at the same mAh rating. Check the wireless polling interval in your CV41 settings first. Reducing unnecessary background polling can recover a meaningful portion of shift endurance without changing hardware.
The CV41 battery feels warm after a long warehouse shift — is something wrong?
Sustained back-to-back scanning combined with constant wireless radio activity generates heat in an enclosed polymer housing, and some warmth is normal. The pack becomes a concern if it is too hot to hold comfortably or if the BMS trips and the unit shuts down mid-shift. If you are seeing shutdowns, check that the battery bay contacts are clean and making full contact — high contact resistance concentrates heat at the terminals rather than dissipating it across the cell. A battery that shuts the device down before reaching low charge should be pulled from service.
