Fits Datalogic QS6500BT barcode scanner; replaces OEM part numbers 10-4765, 5-3112, and EP0906.
3.7V 800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.96Wh — sufficient for full-shift scan and wireless polling in warehouse pick-and-pack operations.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side; tab must seat flush against the scanner body.
We bench-tested this cell in a QS6500BT dock charger; BMS accepted the new pack within one charge cycle with no fault lights or contact resets required.
Install the battery, place the scanner in its cradle for one full charge cycle before using in the field — this pre-charges the cell and prevents false BMS cutoff during the first high-inrush scan burst of the day.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic QS6500BT Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (10-4765)

This 3.7V 800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Datalogic QS6500BT handheld barcode scanner. It fits the QS6500BT, QS65-3030000R, QS65-4040001-401R, QS65-2030000R, and related QS65 variants. Rated at 2.96Wh, it matches the OEM cell format at 52.30 × 15.80 × 15.80mm.

  • QS65 series compatibility: The QS65 scanner variants share a common 3.7V single-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS communication protocol. One replacement pack covers the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling loads. The BMS held stable cutoff thresholds at both low charge and full charge states, with no false trips during high-frequency scan bursts.
  • First-shift charging protocol: After installing the new pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a pre-charged cell prevents a BMS protection trip on the first heavy scan burst.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The QS6500BT cradle reads pack state through the charging contacts before it commits to a charge cycle. If contact resistance is high — from oxidation, debris, or a slight seating angle — the dock flags a fault rather than charge. This is not a faulty battery. Wipe the gold contacts on the pack and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly until you feel the latch click. The charge indicator should switch to active within a few seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The QS6500BT runs its Bluetooth radio and scan imager simultaneously during fast scanning sequences. Combined inrush from both draws can cause a momentary voltage sag on a partially charged or degraded cell, dropping the radio link before the BMS trips. If this happens mid-shift, the cell is likely below 3.5V under load. Place the scanner in the cradle until the charge LED shows at least 50%, then resume — the radio connection will stabilise above that threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My QS6500BT stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped in the new battery — is the battery the problem?

Almost always the cell is just too low on charge to sustain imager power when first installed. The QS6500BT imager draws a short high-current pulse on each trigger press, and a fresh-out-of-packaging cell may sit below the voltage floor the imager needs. Put the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before your first scan. Once fully charged, the imager should fire normally on every trigger press.

The scanner runs warm after a long shift — should I be concerned about the battery?

Sustained scanning plus constant Bluetooth polling generates continuous draw on a single 800mAh cell inside an enclosed housing. Some warmth is normal. If the housing is too hot to hold comfortably, the BMS is likely throttling to protect the cell. Rotate to a spare scanner and let the warm unit sit in the cradle to cool before the next charge cycle. Check that the cradle ventilation slots are not blocked by labels or packaging debris.

This replacement seems to lose charge faster than the old battery did when it was new — what's causing that?

A new Li-ion cell needs two to three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches rated capacity. Shallow cycles — topping up for 20 minutes between tasks rather than running a full cradle charge — also compress the usable capacity window over time. Run three consecutive full charge cycles: seat the scanner in the cradle until the charge LED goes green, then use it until the low-battery warning appears before recharging. Capacity should stabilise to the rated 800mAh by the third full cycle.
