This 3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Diagral Transmission DIAG55AAX wireless alarm transmitter. The transmitter handles radio frequency communication between your alarm sensors and the main control panel. When this cell depletes, that RF link drops and the panel loses sensor data.

  • DIAG55AAX transmitter fit: The DIAG55AAX uses a single 3.7V lithium-ion cell to power its RF transmission module. The BMS inside the transmitter monitors cell voltage and cuts the radio link when voltage drops below threshold — a fresh 1500mAh cell at the correct voltage restores that link without requiring panel reprogramming.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, voltage stabilised at 3.7V nominal, and the protection circuit responded correctly to simulated over-discharge conditions.
  • Post-installation float period: Do not run a zone diagnostic test immediately after swapping this cell. Allow 24 to 48 hours on float charge first. Running a test too early can trigger a false low-battery report from the panel before the cell reaches full charge acceptance.

Why the DIAG55AAX panel reports low battery hours after a new cell is fitted

The Diagral alarm panel samples the transmitter's cell voltage at regular intervals and compares it against a stored threshold. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle may sit just below that threshold, even if the cell itself is not defective. The panel's BMS needs 24 to 48 hours of float charge before it updates its battery status register. If the low-battery indicator clears within that window, the cell and the transmitter are functioning correctly.

Alarm panel losing sensor communication after transmitter battery swap

Removing the DIAG55AAX's battery cuts power to the RF module, which can cause the transmitter to drop its pairing with the main panel. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a power-interruption response in the transmitter's firmware. After fitting the new cell, re-trigger the zone pairing sequence from the panel menu. Confirm the sensor link is restored by checking the panel's zone status screen — each paired sensor should show active at its assigned zone number.

My Diagral panel still shows low battery 6 hours after I replaced the DIAG55AAX transmitter cell — is the new battery faulty?

Almost certainly not. The panel samples transmitter voltage on a fixed schedule and won't update its battery status until the new cell completes its first float charge cycle, which takes 24 to 48 hours. Leave the system powered and connected. If the low-battery alert clears within 48 hours, the cell is working correctly — check again at the 48-hour mark before drawing any conclusions.

The DIAG55AAX transmitter stopped communicating with the panel after I swapped the battery — sensors aren't registering.

Cutting power to the transmitter by removing the cell drops the RF pairing between the DIAG55AAX and the control panel. The transmitter loses its active link the moment power is interrupted. Re-enter the panel's zone pairing or device enrollment menu and re-register the transmitter. Once paired, the panel's zone status screen should show the sensor as active at its assigned zone number.

The panel triggered a tamper fault immediately after I replaced the transmitter battery — I didn't touch anything else.

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the transmitter casing or lid wasn't fully closed and latched after you refitted the cell. The DIAG55AAX has a tamper contact that the lid must press closed — if any part of the casing is slightly ajar, the panel reads it as a tamper event. Open the housing, reseat the battery, close the lid firmly until it clicks, and confirm the tamper fault clears on the panel within 30 seconds.
