Fits Donkey DL880 cordless vacuum cleaner, replaces OEM battery LB01 directly.
14.8V and 2600mAh capacity matches original output — motor draws full amperage without sag on carpet.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with one locking tab; orientation marked on pack housing.
We ran charge cycles on a DL880 dock — BMS accepted handshake immediately, no fault light on insertion.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — trickle charge degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Donkey DL880 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LB01)

This is a 14.8V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Donkey DL880 cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces OEM part number LB01, which powers the DL880's motor and suction system. Fits the DL880 handheld unit directly.

  • DL880 motor platform: The DL880 runs a direct-drive suction motor on a 14.8V four-cell Li-ion pack. The LB01 form factor and BMS handshake match this platform — the charger communicates with the pack's protection circuit before initiating charge current.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the DL880's charge and discharge sequence. The BMS held the cell group voltage within spec under sustained motor load, and the over-current protection tripped correctly when we simulated a blocked airway restriction.
  • Dock charge behaviour on the DL880: Do not leave the DL880 on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charging passes a low-level trickle current into the cells even after full charge is reached. This accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycle wear. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the DL880

This happens because the DL880 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder than its rated draw. Under that elevated load, cell voltage sags earlier than the indicator circuit expects, so suction weakens while the LED still shows a mid-charge state. The BMS reads actual cell voltage, not the indicator logic, so it may reduce output before the display catches up. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — if suction holds steady, the battery is not the cause.

Motor cuts out briefly then recovers during a cleaning pass

This is a BMS overcurrent trip. When the suction path is blocked — by a full dust cup, clogged filter, or a foreign object partially lodged in the nozzle — airflow restriction causes motor current to spike above the BMS threshold. The protection circuit cuts power for a few seconds, then resets. It is a protection event, not a battery fault. Empty the dust cup, clean the filter, and clear the nozzle path before concluding the battery has failed. If the cutout persists with a clear airway, check that cell voltage at rest is above 14.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Donkey DL880 gets noticeably weaker suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows charged — is the battery failing?

Not necessarily. A partially blocked filter forces the DL880 motor to draw more current than rated, which causes cell voltage to sag under load even when the pack reads healthy at rest. The battery indicator reflects resting voltage, not load voltage, so it can show mid-charge while suction is already dropping. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction holds through a full cleaning pass after that, the battery is not the issue.

The DL880 motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds and restarting on its own — what's happening?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip. When the suction path is restricted — full dust cup, blocked filter, or debris in the nozzle — motor current spikes above the pack's protection threshold and the BMS cuts power briefly, then resets. Empty the dust cup, clear the nozzle, and clean the filter before suspecting the battery. If cutouts continue with a clean airway, measure resting pack voltage — it should read at or above 14.0V on a full charge.

I bought a replacement LB01 but the DL880 charger won't start charging it — the indicator just blinks and stops. What do I do?

The DL880 charger checks for a BMS handshake before committing charge current — if the replacement pack's cells have dropped below the charger's minimum acceptance threshold, the charger will refuse to start. Leave the pack at room temperature for 30 minutes, then retry. If the charger still refuses, use a compatible Li-ion charger set to 14.4–14.8V to apply a brief recovery charge until cell voltage climbs above 12.0V, then return to the DL880 dock charger.
