Fits Severin Chill AH7914 and HV7144 cordless vacuums, replaces OEM part 4874048.
7.4V lithium-ion at 2500mAh delivers consistent motor voltage during carpet cleaning cycles.
Connector slides into the handheld battery slot with a single locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested this pack in the AH7914 platform; BMS accepted full charge without fault codes.
Remove the battery from the charging dock immediately after reaching full charge — continuous dock contact causes trickle-charge capacity fade in this vacuum line.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Severin Chill AH7914 / HV7144 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4874048)

This is a 7.4V, 2500mAh lithium-ion battery for the Severin Chill AH7914 and HV7144 cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part number 4874048 directly. When the original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles, suction drops and runtime shortens — this battery restores the vacuum to full operating condition.

  • AH7914 and HV7144 compatibility: Both models share the same 7.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell replacement covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the AH7914 platform. The BMS responded correctly to both the charger handshake and the motor's current draw at full suction speed — no overcurrent trip on start-up.
  • Dock charging on the AH7914: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock connection exposes the cell to trickle charge voltage indefinitely, which accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not always a battery failure. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor pulls harder to maintain airflow, drawing more current than rated. That current spike causes cell voltage to sag under load, and the vacuum's motor controller interprets the sag as a near-depleted battery and dials back power. Clean the filter first — if suction recovers and holds, the original battery likely had capacity fade. If suction still drops with a clean filter and a fresh cell, check the motor for debris around the impeller.

Motor cuts out mid-use, then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — clogged filter, blocked nozzle, or carpet fibres jammed in the head — the motor sustains high current draw beyond the BMS protection threshold. The BMS disconnects the cell to prevent damage, then resets after a few seconds once current drops. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and try again. If the trip repeats on a clean vacuum with a fully charged cell, measure resting cell voltage — it should read above 7.2V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Severin Chill AH7914 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

This is voltage sag under load, not a failing indicator. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw excess current, which drops cell voltage during operation even when the battery shows charged at rest. The motor controller reads that sag as reduced capacity and cuts power to the motor. Clean the filter and check the nozzle for blockages first — if suction holds steady after that, the original cell had developed capacity fade and this replacement will resolve it.

The vacuum motor cuts out for a few seconds during use, then restarts on its own — is this the battery?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, and the cause is usually airflow restriction rather than a faulty cell. When the motor can't move air freely — blocked filter, jammed brush roll, or a clogged nozzle — it draws sustained high current. The battery's protection circuit disconnects the cell, waits, then resets. Clear the blockage completely, then check that resting cell voltage reads above 7.2V before the next use.

This replacement battery charged fully but now fades noticeably faster than when it was new — what causes that?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the AH7914. Leaving the vacuum on the dock after it reaches full charge exposes the cell to trickle voltage for hours or days at a time, which degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal cycling. Remove the vacuum from the dock as soon as the charge indicator shows full. Charge only when the battery is depleted, and capacity should remain stable across many cycles.
