Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro HandleEasy 330gsm — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-MPB16)
This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Doro 330gsm, HandleEasy 330, and HandleEasy 330gsm. It matches the OEM BP-MPB16 specification and fits the original battery bay without modification. When the stock cell no longer holds charge through a normal call or messaging session, this is the direct swap.
- HandleEasy 330 series compatibility: The 330, HandleEasy 330, and HandleEasy 330gsm share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers all three variants without adapters or wiring changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 330gsm platform and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the phone's charge IC — no false full-charge cutoffs and no premature low-battery shutdowns during testing.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the phone normally. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve instead of the old cell's degraded profile.
Why the 330gsm reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on the 330gsm stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the fresh cell. The phone reads voltage correctly but translates it to the wrong percentage. One full discharge-charge cycle forces the IC to recalibrate against the new cell, and percentage accuracy settles within two or three cycles after that.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell
This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. Under load from the GSM modem during a call, the cell's internal resistance causes a sharper voltage drop than the phone's low-battery threshold expects. If the cell voltage dips below the cutoff threshold — typically around 3.2V under load — the phone shuts down even though the resting voltage would read higher. Allow two full discharge-charge cycles to complete before judging cell performance. If shutdown persists below 25%, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat against the cell terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Doro 330gsm won't turn on at all after fitting the new battery — what's happening?
If the replacement cell sat in storage for an extended period, its voltage may have dropped below 2.5V, triggering BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage and the phone sees no power at all. Plug into a wall charger rather than a USB port and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Most BMS circuits recover and begin accepting charge once a minimum threshold voltage is detected from the charger, after which the phone will boot normally.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it shows 60%, drops to 30%, then jumps back up. Is the cell faulty?
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating after a cell swap, not a faulty cell. The coulomb counter is still mapping the new cell's discharge curve and is producing unreliable readings until it has enough data. Run two complete discharge cycles — let the phone shut down on its own each time, then charge fully to 100% — and the percentage will stabilise. If erratic readings continue beyond three full cycles, reseat the battery contacts and check for debris between the cell and the terminal pads.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell draws charge differently from a worn cell, and the 330gsm's charge IC responds by pushing slightly higher current in the early bulk-charge phase, generating modest heat. This is normal for the first few charge cycles and decreases as the cell's internal impedance drops with use. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, remove it from the charger immediately and let it cool to room temperature before continuing. After three full cycles, charging warmth should return to the same level you'd expect from a fresh OEM cell.
