Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orange Dixo — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1200mAh (4.44Wh), built to replace the original battery in the Orange Dixo smartphone. It fits the Dixo directly and restores power for calls, messaging, and everyday app use. Voltage and capacity match the factory spec — no modifications needed.
- Orange Dixo fit: The Dixo runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a compact footprint — 53.18 x 34.00 x 6.80mm. This cell matches that envelope exactly, so the connector seats and the BMS handshake completes without fault codes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming BMS cutoff triggered correctly at both the low-voltage floor and full-charge ceiling. Charge acceptance was normal across the full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging starts pushing current into an uncalibrated state.
Why the Dixo reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Dixo's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve built from the original cell's behaviour over many cycles. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references that old curve — so the percentage shown on screen doesn't match actual cell state. This causes readings that drift, jump, or plateau incorrectly. One full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, followed by a complete charge to 100%, forces the IC to remap the curve against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens because the modem or display draws a current spike the new cell temporarily can't sustain — voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge registers low charge. It's a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. It appears most often in the first few cycles before the cell's internal resistance stabilises with use. Run two or three full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging, then check whether the shutdowns stop. If the problem persists beyond three cycles, verify the battery terminal voltage under screen-on load reads above 3.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Orange Dixo won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below approximately 2.5V during storage, which is a hard cutoff to protect the chemistry. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC on the Dixo will trickle current into the cell below the BMS threshold to bring it back into safe operating range. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, the BMS has re-initialised and normal charging can continue.
The Dixo feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a worn-in cell, so the charge IC works harder during the initial cycles and generates more heat in the process. This is expected for the first two or three charges and settles as the cell's impedance drops with cycling. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and let it cool before resuming. Check that the charger output is 5V and within the rated current for the Dixo; an oversized charger amplifies this effect on a high-impedance new cell.
Fast charging stopped working after I put the new battery in the Orange Dixo — the phone just charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on a new cell may not complete the handshake required for the fast charge protocol to activate — the charge IC defaults to standard 5V/1A as a safety fallback. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then discharge the phone through normal use to automatic shutdown. On the second charge cycle, reconnect your fast charger and check whether the charging rate returns to normal. If fast charging still doesn't activate after two full cycles, confirm the charger and cable are both rated for the Dixo's charging spec — a mismatched cable is the most common cause after the BMS handshake issue resolves itself.
