Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Eken H9 / H9R / H8 / H8R Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PG1050)
The PG1050 is a 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell for the Eken H9, H9R, H8, and H8R action cameras. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original cell and connects via the same three-pin contact plate. Capacity matches the stock specification at 900mAh (3.33Wh).
- H9 / H9R / H8 / H8R platform fit: These four models share the same compact chassis dimensions and battery bay. The PG1050 footprint — 32.77 × 29.16 × 10.89mm — matches the cavity, and the contact pin layout aligns with the camera's power rails across all four variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the H9R body. The BMS accepted the cell on initial insertion, reported charge status correctly, and maintained stable voltage delivery through sustained 1080p recording. No mid-session cutoff was observed during load testing.
- First-cycle conditioning on the H9 body: Run the first full charge inside the camera body using the OEM USB cable — not an external charger. The H9's onboard BMS maps the cell's discharge curve during that first cycle, which anchors the battery-level indicator to the correct voltage thresholds for accurate remaining-charge display.
Battery percentage jumping or freezing on the H9 display
The H9 uses a voltage-threshold lookup table to translate cell voltage into the percentage shown on screen. A fresh replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve shape than a worn OEM cell, so the camera's lookup table can misread voltage steps — causing the indicator to jump from 80% to 40% in seconds or to freeze at one level. This is a calibration issue, not a cell defect. Run one complete charge-and-discharge cycle through the camera body to let the BMS re-anchor its reference points. After that cycle, the display typically tracks within a normal margin of the actual state of charge.
H9 showing dead-battery icon immediately after inserting a fully charged replacement
This happens when the camera's BMS has not yet authenticated the new cell — it defaults to a low-voltage read on first contact. Remove the battery, reinsert it firmly until the cover latches flush, then connect the camera to USB power for at least 30 seconds before powering on. That brief charge handshake resets the BMS register. If the icon persists after a full USB charge cycle, check cell voltage at the contacts with a multimeter — a fully charged PG1050 should read approximately 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Eken H9R shows a dead battery icon the moment I put in the new cell — it won't even turn on
The H9R BMS defaults to a fault state when it can't confirm the cell's starting voltage on first insertion. Reinsert the battery firmly until the compartment cover sits fully flush, then plug the camera into USB power for at least 30 seconds before pressing the power button. That short charge handshake clears the register. If it still won't power on, measure voltage at the battery contacts — a fully charged PG1050 should read approximately 4.2V.
The battery percentage on my H9 is jumping all over the place — it dropped from 75% to 20% without warning
The H9 maps cell voltage to a percentage using a fixed lookup table calibrated to a worn-in OEM cell. A new replacement has a slightly different discharge curve, so the camera misreads voltage steps and the indicator skips or stalls. Run one complete charge-from-empty cycle entirely inside the camera body via USB — not an external charger. After that single cycle the BMS re-anchors its voltage thresholds and the display tracks accurately.
My H9 drains noticeably faster in cold weather — is the cell faulty?
Li-ion cells lose usable capacity below about 10°C because internal resistance rises and the electrochemical reaction slows. At 0°C a 900mAh cell can deliver noticeably less charge before voltage drops to the camera's cutoff threshold — this is normal chemistry, not a defect. Keep a spare cell in an inside pocket to maintain temperature between shots and swap them out as needed. Once the drained cell warms back to room temperature, it will recover most of its remaining capacity.
