Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Eufy S220 SoloCam — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SW18650 34M 2P)
This 3.7V, 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Eufy S220 SoloCam wireless outdoor security camera. It fits the T3814 and AKT8223 platforms used across the 2K Solar and Night Vision variants. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — no adapter or modification needed.
- S220 SoloCam platform fit: The T3814 and AKT8223 boards share the same 3.7V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake logic. One cell covers all variants listed — no wiring changes, no firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through motion-trigger cycles on a T3814 unit. The BMS passed current correctly during IR LED and processor combined draw spikes without tripping. Charge acceptance from the onboard solar controller was clean across the full charge curve.
- First-install power cycle: After fitting the new cell, power cycle the camera once through the Eufy app. The firmware must register the new cell before motion-recording events log correctly to cloud storage — skip this step and early clips may not upload.
Solar panel not recovering a depleted S220 cell in winter
The S220's solar controller uses a minimum input voltage threshold before it will push charge into a depleted cell. In winter, reduced panel output — especially on overcast days — can fall below that re-entry point, leaving the battery stuck at low voltage. The BMS will not accept charge until the panel delivers enough sustained voltage to cross that threshold. USB-charge the cell to at least 3.5V first, then remount and let the solar panel take over from there.
App showing 0% or incorrect percentage after battery swap
The S220 uses a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel gauge IC — it reads state of charge from cell voltage at fixed intervals, not from coulomb counting. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed a full charge cycle can sit at a voltage that maps to the wrong percentage bucket. Run one complete charge to 4.2V through the app before trusting the readout. After that first full cycle, the displayed percentage will track accurately against actual cell voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions
My S220 SoloCam stops recording mid-clip after I fitted the new battery — what's cutting it off?
Mid-clip dropout on the S220 is usually a WiFi reconnect event pulling a current spike that trips the BMS on a weak signal. The processor briefly boosts transmit power to maintain the connection, and the combined draw with the IR LEDs can exceed the BMS discharge threshold. Move the camera within 5 metres of your router temporarily and test — if recording completes cleanly, the issue is signal-related, not the cell. Reposition the camera or add a WiFi extender to keep RSSI above -65 dBm at the mount location.
Camera went offline in the app right after I swapped the battery — it's on and the LED is solid, but the app can't find it.
When power is interrupted during a battery swap, the S220 drops its firmware session token and the app loses the registered device link. The camera is running, but the app no longer recognises it as the same active session. Open the Eufy Security app, go to Device Settings, and run a soft reset — do not delete and re-add the device first. After the reset completes and the camera reconnects to WiFi, the session re-registers and the app feed restores.
Night vision cuts out after a few hours and the camera seems to go to sleep — was the battery charged before shipping?
Night vision on the S220 sustains a constant IR LED array draw all night, which is a higher baseline load than daytime standby. If the cell arrived partially discharged, that sustained overnight draw can pull it below the BMS low-voltage cutoff before morning. Charge the battery fully via USB before first install — confirm the in-app indicator reads 100% and holds there for 10 minutes before mounting. If night vision still cuts early after a full charge, check that the solar panel cable connection is seated — a loose connector stops daytime solar recovery entirely.
