Fits Shark Pet Perfect Bagless SV70Z and replaces OEM battery part numbers SV70Z, D-SC-P, XB14726.
This 14.4V, 2200mAh Ni-MH pack delivers steady voltage to the motor during pet hair pickup and carpet cleaning.
Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in an SV70Z unit—motor voltage held stable under sustained suction load and BMS engaged normally on first charge.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge; Ni-MH cells on permanent trickle charge lose capacity faster than those removed when full.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Euro Pro Shark Pet Perfect Bagless — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (XB14726)

This is a 14.4V, 2200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Euro Pro Shark Pet Perfect Bagless vacuum cleaner. It fits the SV70Z and related SV70 series models, including the Shark Sweeper SV70 and EV729. When the original cell loses capacity or stops holding a charge, this unit restores the vacuum to working order.

  • SV70 series fitment: The SV70Z, SV70, and EV729 share the same 14.4V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One cell covers the full range of these models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SV70Z platform. The BMS accepted the handshake from the charger correctly, and the motor drew current within the expected range under suction load without triggering overcurrent cutoff.
  • Dock charging habit on the SV70 series: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between every use. The SV70 charger continues to trickle charge once the cell is full. Remove the vacuum from the dock when the charge cycle completes to slow capacity fade.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the SV70Z

This happens when the motor is working harder than rated — usually because the filter is partially blocked. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current, which causes voltage to sag at the cell before the indicator circuit registers a low state. The result is weak suction even with a battery that reads as charged. Clean or replace the foam and felt filters first, then retest suction under the same carpet load.

Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the motor sustains a high current draw — usually from a blockage in the nozzle or a clogged filter — the BMS shuts the output to protect the cell. The pack resets after the thermal or current condition clears, which is why the vacuum works again after a brief rest. Clear any blockage in the suction path, check the filter, and confirm the cell voltage reads at or above 14.4V after a full charge before ruling out the battery itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SV70Z has noticeably weaker suction but the battery indicator still shows charged — what's happening?

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to pull more current than rated, which causes the cell voltage to sag under load before the indicator trips. The indicator reads open-circuit voltage, not load voltage, so it can show charged while suction is already suffering. Clean the foam and felt filters on the SV70Z first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the problem. If suction stays weak after cleaning, charge the cell fully and check that voltage holds above 14.4V under motor load.

The vacuum runs for a short stretch, cuts out, then starts again after I wait a minute — is this the battery or something else?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip resetting itself after the current spike clears. It usually means the motor is working against a blockage in the nozzle or a clogged filter, pulling more amps than the BMS allows. Check the suction path for debris and inspect the filter before assuming the cell is faulty. If the cutout still happens on a clear filter and unblocked nozzle, charge the pack fully and confirm resting voltage is at or above 14.4V.

This replacement battery fades much faster than the original did when it was new — did I get a bad cell?

Capacity fade this early on a new cell is almost always caused by continuous dock charging. The SV70 charger does not stop at full — it trickle charges as long as the vacuum sits in the dock, and Ni-MH cells degrade quickly under constant trickle current. Remove the vacuum from the dock as soon as the charge cycle finishes. If you have already been leaving it docked continuously, run two full discharge-and-recharge cycles and check whether usable runtime improves before concluding the cell is defective.
