Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark SV70 Pet Perfect Bagless — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (XB14726)
This is a 14.4V, 2200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Shark SV70 and SV70Z Pet Perfect Bagless cordless handheld vacuum. It slots into the original battery housing using the same connector and cell configuration as the factory pack. If your original battery no longer holds a charge or cuts out early into a clean, this cell restores power to the motor.
- SV70 and SV70Z platform fit: These models share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The XB14726 cell group is the correct match across the SV70 series, including the Sweeper SV70 variant.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SV70Z. The BMS accepted the charge signal without fault, voltage held steady under suction load, and the pack reached full capacity within the expected charge window.
- Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between every use. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster when exposed to continuous trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next clean.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The SV70 motor draws harder when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces sustained high current draw, which pulls pack voltage down faster than normal. The battery indicator reads charge level, not load-adjusted voltage, so it can still show green while the motor is already starved. The result is noticeably weaker suction long before the indicator warns you. Clean the filter and confirm the dust cup seal is seated — both directly affect how hard the motor pulls from the battery.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum draws more current than the BMS threshold — typically caused by a blocked filter, a jammed brush roll, or a full dust cup — the BMS cuts the output circuit to protect the cells. After a few seconds the pack cools slightly, the BMS resets, and power returns. Clearing the blockage stops the trip from repeating. If it still trips on an unobstructed machine, check that pack voltage after a full charge reads at or above 16.0V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Shark SV70 loses suction halfway through vacuuming but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?
The battery indicator tracks state of charge, not voltage under load. A partially clogged filter forces the motor to draw excess current, which drags pack voltage down even when charge looks fine. Pull the filter, rinse it, and let it dry fully before reinstalling — that single fix resolves the majority of these cases. If suction still drops after a clean filter, check the dust cup seal is seated flush, as any air leak reduces draw efficiency.
The SV70 powers on fine but cuts out after a minute of use on carpet and then starts again on its own — why?
That self-recovering cutout is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent event, not a faulty battery. Carpet cleaning pulls more motor current than hard floors, and any added restriction — full dust cup, blocked inlet, or jammed brush roll — pushes the draw past the BMS limit. The BMS disconnects the pack to protect the cells, waits a few seconds, then resets. Clear the blockage and confirm pack voltage reads at or above 16.0V after a full charge before running on carpet again.
My replacement battery for the SV70Z fades much faster than when it was new — could the charging dock be causing this?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in cordless vacuums with Ni-MH packs. Trickle current through a Ni-MH cell that is already full generates heat, and repeated heat cycles degrade cell capacity faster than normal discharge cycling. Charge the battery to full, then pull it from the dock — do not use the dock as a storage cradle between cleans. After adjusting this habit, allow three to four full charge and discharge cycles for the pack to stabilise at its actual capacity.
