Fits Explay X5 smartphones; replaces OEM battery part number X5.
3.8V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers sustained voltage under processor and modem load.
Connector seats flat into the X5 battery slot with standard polymer latch retention.
We ran discharge cycles at 500mA; BMS accepted charge without cutoff fault triggering.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Explay X5 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (X5)

This 3.8V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Explay X5 smartphone. It fits the X5 directly, restoring power to the display, processor, and cellular radio. Capacity is 7.6Wh, matching the factory specification.

  • Explay X5 fit: The X5 uses a slim Li-Polymer cell rated at 3.8V nominal — the voltage rail feeds the SoC, modem, and display controller through a shared PMIC. Swapping to a different voltage or chemistry trips the protection circuit and prevents boot. This cell stays within that voltage window.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the bench, watching the BMS handshake with the charge IC. The protection circuit engaged correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the full-charge termination point — no runaway, no false trips.
  • First-cycle fast charge lockout: After installing a new cell, disable fast charging for the first full discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running fast charge current into an uncalibrated cell skews the coulomb counter further and prolongs the recalibration window.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Explay X5

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. Under modem transmission load or screen brightness spikes, the cell's internal resistance causes voltage to sag below the PMIC's minimum threshold — the phone cuts power before the fuel gauge even registers critical. It happens more often on aged cells where impedance has risen. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage under load, pushing that cliff well below the displayed percentage.

Explay X5 not powering on after sitting in storage

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage from deep discharge. The phone shows no response to the power button and may not respond to a charger immediately. Connect it to a low-current USB source — a wall adapter, not a fast charger — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs a trickle current to exit lockout before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Explay X5 shut off at around 25% after I put in the new battery?

The new cell has lower internal resistance than a degraded one, so the voltage cliff should move — but the fuel gauge IC is still running a calibration curve from the old cell. Under modem or screen load, the phone's PMIC sees voltage sag before the gauge catches up and cuts power early. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption — this lets the coulomb counter rebuild its curve against the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readings and shutdown point should align correctly.

The Explay X5 won't accept fast charging after I replaced the battery — it only trickle charges.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can refuse to hand off from pre-charge to fast-charge mode because the fuel gauge IC reports an unfamiliar state-of-charge profile. This is a BMS and gauge IC coordination issue, not a fault with the cell or the charger. Let the phone complete one full charge at slow speed — the fuel gauge IC updates its internal model once it sees a complete cycle. Fast charge should re-engage on the second cycle; if it does not, check that the USB cable supports the charge current your adapter delivers.

The Explay X5 jumps from 60% to 35% in seconds — is the new battery defective?

Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap are almost always the fuel gauge IC recalibrating, not a faulty cell. The IC stores a learned discharge model for the old cell; when a new cell with a different impedance profile replaces it, the coulomb counter loses accuracy mid-discharge. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts off on its own, then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. One complete cycle resets the fuel gauge IC's reference points and the percentage readout stabilises.
