Fits Fatboy Edison the Petit LED desk lamp, replaces OEM part PN704050.
3.7V, 1600mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 5.92Wh — sustains white and UV LED modes on this compact rechargeable lamp.
Connector slides into the Edison the Petit battery slot with a single locking tab; no adapters needed.
We ran full charge-discharge cycles on the Edison platform; the BMS accepted input cleanly and held voltage under mixed lighting loads.
The Edison the Petit UV LED mode draws triple the current of warm white — charge fully before first use to avoid low-battery cutoff when switching between modes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fatboy Edison the Petit — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PN704050)

This 3.7V, 1600mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Fatboy Edison the Petit and LED Table Lamp Edison portable desk lamps. It restores cordless operation after the original cell has degraded through repeated charge cycles. Capacity matches the factory spec at 1600mAh (5.92Wh).

  • Edison the Petit and LED Table Lamp Edison fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V charging circuit, and PN704050 connector configuration — one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the lamp's charge and discharge stages. The BMS held stable voltage delivery across both low and high brightness modes with no unexpected cutoff.
  • First-charge calibration: Charge the lamp fully before first use. The Edison the Petit's fuel gauge reads against a calibrated cell baseline — if the cell ships at storage voltage, the indicator can show low battery immediately after switching to maximum brightness, even with a healthy cell installed.

Why the Edison the Petit dims suddenly on maximum brightness

The LED driver in the Edison the Petit requires a minimum input voltage to sustain full brightness output. Maximum brightness draws significantly more current than warm dim mode — roughly three to four times higher. As the cell voltage drops under that load, the driver steps down output before the battery protection circuit fully trips. This is normal LED driver behaviour, not a fault with the cell itself.

Lamp brightness lower than expected right after fitting a new cell

A new lithium-polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not a full charge of 4.2V. The Edison the Petit's brightness control draws on available cell voltage, so a partially charged cell produces visibly lower output at higher brightness settings. This is not a faulty battery. Connect the lamp to its USB charger and run a full charge cycle before testing brightness. Once the cell reaches 4.2V, full output is restored.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Edison the Petit flickers and then goes dark even though the battery shows some charge left — what's happening?

The LED driver cuts out when cell voltage drops below its minimum input threshold, which happens before the battery protection circuit trips. This makes the lamp go dark while the cell still has remaining capacity — the gauge shows charge, but voltage has sagged too low under load. It is more common with a degraded original cell than with a fresh replacement. Fit the new cell, run a full charge cycle to 4.2V, and the driver will sustain output correctly.

The lamp charges very slowly when I leave it switched on while plugged in — is the USB port faulty?

The USB charging input and the lamp's LED circuit share available current from the same port. When the lamp is on, it draws current continuously, leaving less for the charging circuit. Charging rate drops noticeably at higher brightness settings. Switch the lamp off while charging and the cell will reach full charge at its normal rate.

After replacing the battery, the Edison the Petit's low-battery indicator comes on almost immediately at full brightness — do I have a dud cell?

This happens when the cell is installed at storage voltage and the lamp's fuel gauge hasn't calibrated against a full charge. The gauge reads voltage under load — at maximum brightness the draw is high enough to pull a storage-voltage cell below the low-battery threshold within seconds. Run one complete charge cycle from flat to full before using the lamp. Once the cell is at 4.2V, the indicator will behave correctly.
