Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Zafferano Dama / Dama Pro / Ofelia / Ofelia Pro — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 5200mAh (19.24Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the internal rechargeable battery in Zafferano portable LED desk lamps including the Dama, Dama Pro, Ofelia, and Ofelia Pro. When the original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles, brightness drops and runtime shortens — this replacement restores the lamp to its original operating spec. Voltage and footprint match the factory cell at 65.50 × 37.00 × 19.50mm.
- Dama, Dama Pro, Ofelia, Ofelia Pro — shared battery platform: These Zafferano models run the same 3.7V cell architecture and LED driver circuit. The BMS threshold, connector type, and physical dimensions are consistent across the range, so a single cell spec covers all listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Zafferano-compatible LED driver rig. The BMS handled low-voltage cutoff cleanly and accepted a full charge without thermal events or balancing errors.
- First-use charge for Zafferano lamps: Charge the lamp fully before switching it on for the first time. Zafferano lamps with a colour-temperature or UV mode draw significantly more current in those modes — a cell at storage voltage will trigger a low-battery cutoff almost immediately when those modes are first activated.
Lamp not reaching rated brightness on a new battery
A freshly shipped lithium-ion cell sits at storage voltage — typically 3.6V to 3.65V — not full charge. Zafferano's LED driver requires voltage closer to 4.1V to push the LED array to rated lumen output. If the lamp looks dim straight out of the box, that is not a fault. Charge to 100% first, then test brightness — the lamp should reach full output at 4.1–4.2V cell voltage.
Lamp flickering or cutting out before the battery indicator hits zero
Flickering in Zafferano lamps usually means the LED driver is losing stable input voltage — not that the battery is empty. At higher brightness settings, current draw spikes and a degraded or partially charged cell sags below the driver's minimum input threshold, causing the flicker or sudden shutoff. This can also happen if the USB charging cable is underpowered — the lamp attempts to draw charging current and operating current simultaneously, starving the driver. Use a 5V 2A or higher USB source and charge the cell fully before extended use at maximum brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Zafferano Dama lamp turns off by itself at high brightness even though the battery shows charge remaining — why?
At maximum brightness, the LED driver pulls significantly more current than at warm dim settings — roughly 3 to 4 times higher. If the cell voltage sags below the driver's cutoff threshold under that load, the lamp shuts off as a protection measure even though the indicator hasn't zeroed out. This isn't a faulty battery reading — it's voltage sag under high draw. Charge the cell fully and avoid running at maximum brightness while simultaneously charging via a low-output USB adapter.
My Zafferano lamp charges slowly and the battery barely gains charge when the lamp is switched on at the same time — is the charger broken?
The charger is almost certainly fine. When the lamp is on during charging, the operating current and charging current both draw from the same USB input. A standard 5V 1A adapter cannot supply enough current for both simultaneously, so the charging circuit throttles back. Switch the lamp off during charging, or swap to a 5V 2A USB adapter — charging current should return to normal and the cell will reach full voltage in a standard charge window.
The replacement battery charged fully but the lamp's runtime feels much shorter than it used to — what's happening?
Short runtime at full charge usually means the cell wasn't conditioned before heavy use, or the lamp is being run exclusively at maximum brightness. Full brightness draws 3 to 4 times the current of a low warm-dim setting, which compresses runtime sharply. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles at mixed brightness levels to let the BMS calibrate its state-of-charge reading accurately. If runtime remains short after conditioning, check that you're not running a high-draw colour mode continuously — switch to a lower brightness setting and measure whether runtime normalises.
