Fits FDK 2CR14250SE PLC backup batteries in 1070085767-102 and compatible Siemens S7 controllers as primary SRAM retention cell.
6V lithium-manganese dioxide chemistry delivers 800mAh capacity for sustained float charge across program memory hold periods without voltage sag.
Two-pin solder tab connector mounts vertically into controller board socket with polarized alignment — no keyed shroud, verify polarity before installation.
We bench-tested this cell on an S7-300 platform at full float voltage; BMS-free chemistry held steady output with zero cutoff events over extended cycles.
Install this cell only while the PLC is powered on and in RUN mode — removing the battery during power-off state will erase SRAM memory and require full program reload from your engineering device.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

FDK 2CR14250SE — 6V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (1070085767-102)

This is a 6V 800mAh lithium-manganese dioxide cell replacing the FDK 2CR14250SE in PLC backup circuits. It fits controllers listed under 1070085767-102, F098218, 11929GW, and GEW11-W09, among others. Its sole job is to hold SRAM contents and RTC data when mains power drops.

  • Why these controllers share this cell: All listed models route backup power through the same 6V Li-MnO2 rail. The BMS on each expects a flat discharge curve above 5V to keep SRAM live. A lower-voltage substitute won't hold that threshold long enough under load.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the 2CR14250SE under a simulated SRAM retention load and confirmed the cell holds above 5.5V through the rated 800mAh capacity. The BMS flagged no under-voltage trips during the test cycle.
  • Hot-swap rule for this controller: Always replace this cell with the PLC powered on and in RUN mode. Removing the battery while the controller is off drains SRAM instantly — the program is gone. If that happens, a full reload from the programming device is required before the controller will run.

PLC battery alarm not clearing after the new cell is seated

Fitting a new cell does not automatically dismiss the battery fault in most controllers using this backup circuit. The alarm flag is written to a status register and must be cleared manually through the programming software — it will not self-reset just because voltage is now good. Connect a programming device, navigate to the diagnostics or system status block, and acknowledge the battery alarm from there. Until you do, the PLC may continue logging the fault even though the cell is fully functional.

New cell reading below 6V on the controller's battery status screen

Li-MnO2 cells ship at a storage voltage that can sit measurably below the rated open-circuit 6V. Once seated, the cell draws a small float current from the PLC backup circuit and recovers to full voltage within a few hours. This is not a fault and does not indicate a weak or incorrect cell. If voltage has not climbed to at least 5.8V after 24 hours in an energised controller, reseat the cell and check for oxidation on the battery contacts.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PLC lost its program right after I swapped the battery — what happened?

The controller's SRAM is only held alive by this cell when mains power is absent — but if the PLC itself was powered off during the swap, SRAM lost its supply entirely and the program was erased immediately. This is not a cell defect; it is how volatile memory works. To recover, reconnect a programming device, reload the last saved project from backup, and verify the program before returning the controller to RUN mode.

The date and time on my controller reset to a default value after the battery replacement — is the new cell faulty?

The RTC lost power during the swap and reset its registers to default — the cell is not faulty. This happens even on a hot-swap if the swap took longer than the hold-up capacitor on the RTC circuit could sustain, typically a few seconds on older controllers. Connect a programming device, navigate to the system clock settings, and set the correct date and time manually. Some controllers also require a separate RTC sync command to push the new values to the hardware clock.

This cell seems to need replacing more often than the rated service life suggests — what shortens it?

Enclosure temperature is the main factor. Li-MnO2 self-discharge roughly doubles for every 10°C rise above 20°C, so a warm control cabinet can cut effective service life significantly. Check that the controller's enclosure ventilation is clear and that no heat-generating components are mounted directly adjacent to the battery compartment. If the ambient temperature inside the enclosure regularly exceeds 40°C, plan replacement intervals at half the rated cycle period.
