Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fluidwell F010 / F011 / F012 / F013 Display Series — 3.6V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery (SPB02)

This is the SPB02 replacement cell for Fluidwell F010, F011, F012, and F013 series industrial process displays, along with 35 additional compatible models. It runs at 3.6V with 8100mAh capacity. The battery sustains SRAM data retention and the real-time clock when mains power is absent or interrupted.

  • F010–F013 and extended model compatibility: These display units share a common SRAM backup architecture and RTC circuit, both powered from the same 3.6V Li-SOCl2 rail through identical connector and BMS handshake logic. A single cell spec covers the full family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a live F010 display under continuous SRAM retention load. The BMS held the backup voltage rail stable throughout, with no dropout events recorded during the test window.
  • Live-swap protocol for the F010 series: Always replace this cell while the display unit is powered on and in active run mode. Removing the battery with the unit powered off will immediately drop the SRAM supply rail, erasing stored process parameters and RTC data. A powered swap keeps the rail live through the changeover.

Why the F010 display loses stored data during a battery swap

The F010's SRAM has no secondary hold capacitor large enough to bridge a cold battery swap. The moment the SPB02 is disconnected with the unit off, the backup rail collapses and SRAM contents are gone within seconds. Stored totaliser values, process parameters, and scaling data all reside in that SRAM block. Keeping the display powered during the swap maintains the rail above the 2.8V SRAM retention threshold throughout the changeover.

Battery alarm still showing on the F010 after a confirmed good installation

The F010 does not auto-clear a battery alarm once a new cell is detected. The alarm flag is written to a status register and must be reset manually through the unit's configuration menu or via the connected programming interface. A new SPB02 cell also ships at storage voltage — typically 3.5V — and rises to full rated voltage within a few hours on the display's float charge circuit. Reset the alarm flag first, then verify the voltage reading again after four hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

My F010 display lost all its totaliser data and process parameters right after I swapped the battery — is that recoverable?

The data is gone from SRAM — it cannot be recovered from the display itself. This happens when the SPB02 is removed while the unit is powered off, collapsing the 3.6V backup rail instantly. Reload your process configuration and scaling values from your backup file or programming device. Going forward, always perform the swap with the F010 powered on and in run mode to keep the SRAM rail live.

The F010's clock is showing the wrong date and time after the battery replacement — what caused that?

The RTC lost power during the swap because the unit was off when the old cell was pulled. Unlike SRAM content, the clock cannot sustain itself once the backup rail drops. Set the date and time manually through the F010 configuration menu or via your connected programming software. If future swaps are done live with the unit powered on, the RTC will hold without needing to be reset.

The new SPB02 cell is reading around 3.5V on my multimeter — should it be at 3.6V?

Li-SOCl2 cells ship at a reduced storage voltage, typically 3.45V–3.5V, to slow self-discharge in transit. This is normal. Install the cell in the powered F010 and allow four to six hours on the display's float charge circuit — the open-circuit voltage will stabilise at 3.6V. If it reads below 3.4V after that period, the cell may have over-discharged in storage and should be replaced.
